Late February/Early March 2026 Mid-Long Range

never giving up. We have 4 seasons. Yall got 6/9 months of warm and roses and all that jazz. I want the full 3 months of winter I signed up for. I hope it snows till April. -
Hey DB, To be efficient, I’ll look at one city, Tulsa, as a good rep of the S Plains. They actually had a NN precip fall. But winter has been dry with only 1.62” vs 5.65” 30 year normal. This was the driest winter there since 2005-6’s 1.59” and second driest on record! 1931-2 winter there was wet with 7.7”. Also, Nov of 1931 is the 2nd wettest Nov on record. So, winter of 31-2 didn’t at all foretell the upcoming dust bowl. Then again, 1932 overall ended up rather dry with a very dry Feb-May and Aug-Sep. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/Climate?wfo=tsa

7pm sunset is a game changer every year. gives a fresh breath of air to the daily routine. also looking forward to some rain to get this salt out of here. not sure about other areas in the metro but white plains should be banned from ever looking at salt again. its absurd what they do, especially considering i come from somewhere with a significantly higher amount of snowfall than down here, i've never seen such blatant salt usage

Winter 2025-26 Medium/Long Range Discussion
michsnowfreak replied to michsnowfreak's topic in Lakes/Ohio Valley
Not true. I understand youre still relatively new to the region, but March/April climo is its own entity. Unless an abnormally cold pattern is in place to start March, this is the end of deep/sustained winter for the southern Lakes. However the mere chance of a snowstorm, much less measurable snow, is very much there into mid April amd sometimes beyond. -
There’s a similar situation in NYC: JFK reported 8” snow cover while Central Park had just 1”.
-
The E coast is due for a cold April as the last 3 have actually been mild.
