  1. Past hour
  2. https://www.metoc.navy.mil/fwcn/animate.html?icao=mugm&type=CMaxZH240 Guantanamo radar confirms satellite: small eye with violent eyewall reforming. This is bombing out
  3. Don't know how true it is but a few pro mets on Facebook reported on their Facebook news page that NHC hurricane hunters had recorded a 252 mph wind gust near Jamaica .. seem a bit unrealistic but. Not impossible I guess
  4. How this managed to keep a tight inner core after spending 5+ hours over the mountains with seemingly zero time to reorganize is beyond me. I’m at a loss. If it had been moving quickly over Jamaica, sure. But this thing crawled. And exploded the second it hit water. Looks high end-ish on satellite again. Doubt it goes back to a 5 but at this point I can’t deny the possibility
  5. Hmm. Hard to say but I do know where in live in eastern Baltimore county alot of the leaves have already fallen so a good storm may speed up the process... In my opinion
  6. Yeah I agree!! We have one of the best running teams yet we seem to throw more this year!!. Makes no sense to me
  7. I've already had the wood stove going 5 times this month including tonight. Basically 5-8 hour burns to keep the furnace use minimal and the house comfy at night.
  8. Flip side it's light out when I have to wake up for work.
  9. Lol, no doubt. Is it built for hurricanes though? I think they set up a bunch of deportation shelters there as well. I'm just think about what Michael did to Tyndall, and they're still in a huge rebuilding effort.
  10. It really comes down to how often you use it as a reference. If you always use mph and then all of a sudden someone mentions knots, having to do the conversion is tedious. But if you start using knots regularly, then I'm sure converting back to mph will be the annoying part.
  11. It ain't looking good, that's for sure. I was a little concerned going into the season that they're a bit too old as a team (in football years). Not sure if that's a factor, but something is.
  12. I am amazed at how this thing has never weakened except while crossing Jamaica earlier today. It is an amazing machine of nature.
  13. Without engaging in hyperbole this is looking like it might make a run at high end cat 4 even in the few hours until landfall based on satellite trends
  14. Eye is clearing out again and -80c tops wrapping around the Southern half of the CDO. Guess my hallowed out core post was off base lol.
  15. Eye rapidly clearing out. How strong can it get before the next landfall? It’s going to push the boundary for rapid recovery post-landfall.
  16. It's a good thing this thing just simply doesn't have much time to work with. The rate at which it recovered intensity is impressive.
