  1. Past hour
  2. Even hotter tonight . Can’t stress how rare this is at this time of night
  3. I don't mind the network, but it is different from our COOP stations, particularly the older ones. Night and day different. By the way, regarding your post of a couple of days ago. Per the last few pages, there are quite a few local sites at 1F/decade in recent decades. Won't change what I wrote previously, but will keep an eye on it.
  4. 8.7 magnitude earthquake off Kamchatka peninsula in Russia. Strongest earthquake on Earth since 2011 Japan quake. Tsunami is confirmed.
  5. Over the Newton/Sparta area earlier, we had two distinct cloud formations that were trying to develop something. I even ran through a brief shower just outside of Newton, heading towards Sparta around 4:45. Just barley enough for one or two swipes with the windshield wipers. There was a tiny blip on radar and the only one around for hundreds of miles.
  6. No. But I probably missed out on some good land if this tsunami pans out.
  7. Thank God for that heavy rain Saturday night or I would definitely be in a bit of a drought Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk

  9. Topped out at 93° at ORD and at MDW today. ...2025 90°+ Day Tally... 23 - DPA 22 - ORD 22 - MDW 21 - PWK 21 - ARR 18 - RFD 18 - LOT 13 - UGN

  11. Which makes it a top tener all time. If the interweb is correct.
  12. Historic frequency of 90° or above days at New York City (Central Park): August 23 is a statistical oddity with just 7 cases on which the temperature reached 90° or above. Only June 2-4 during summer had a similar or lower percentage of 90° days. September 7 was the next day with a similar figure. Then, the next similar or lower figure occurred on September 12.
  13. Meh. There isn't a big difference in the 2000-25 warming rate between Philadelphia and Phoenixville: 1.00 deg/decade for Phoenixville and 1.05 deg/decade for PHL. The difference is only 5% of the warming rate and is probably not statistically significant.
  14. It's pretty wild how cold it is getting out of Lake Tahoe on a hot summer day with that desert dry air and consistent breeze. Been decades but I won't forget that.
