  3. Only one 90 degree day in August and even that was a very weak 91, how often has August not had any 90 degree days, Don?
  4. Must have taken you a long time to find the one model that shows that, weak sauce man
  5. August finished with a monthly mean temperature of 75.8° in New York City (Central Park). That was 0.3° below normal (1991-2020).
  6. Let's see if it can build some convection tonight. Either way, the odds of anything remotely noteworthy coming of this is rapidly diminishing.
  7. Was 1963-64 an el nino summer Chris? If so there are two el nino summers ahead of it, 1963 and 2002. This was an extremely front loaded summer, no really hot days after July. Too much rain for it to be hot. The early part of July was like a less extreme version of 1966 but the pattern didn't hold because the dryness in 1966 lasted until the blockbuster winter of 1966-67 began. What do you think of the idea that a very wet last month of summer leads to a warm less snowy winter?

  11. So only the park was below normal. Makes sense that we focus on it so much.
  12. Last time I went to Stowe was 2004. It was during the summer for a few days. My second child was born 9 months later.. ahem. I have skied there, but that was in 1987. I have the epic pass for next year. We will be going this year for a few days with my youngest Teen. Wife doesn't ski, so any in town VRBO's or Inn's suggestions would be good @powderfreak. She loves the small town shops.
  13. It's unfortunate. Bastardi and Martz follow one another on X and both have audiences that overlap on climate change denial, so it's not that surprising. However, Martz is not a practicing meteorologist. He has no research to his name. Bastardi, even setting aside his positions on climate change, should stay with the proper meteorological terminology. He's damaging his professional legacy, which has already been hurt by his stance regarding climate change. It is what it is.
