Snow started a little before 11 am here in the Edison/Metuchen area. Got a nice coating on the ground now. In case you didn't see my driving home from Charlotte thread on the main board, just got home around 6 am and snoozed until about 10:30 am. Anyone know if there's any validity to the comments about less precip and a sharp cutoff to the NW of I-95? Radar certainly looks like a sharp cutoff, but haven't had time to wade through all the posts/obs/models.

Snow is really increasing in intensity here. Looks like moderate intensity.

Dude, I can barely see anything outside! If this is the appetizer, what will the main course be like?

Yay for daytime-night time-day time snow storms lol. This actually reminds me of Jan 1996 right now.

Hey everyone,

It's bad out there on Long Island already. This is shaping up to be memorable for sure!

Current Conditions: temp 26.6, winds sustained just over 10mph with moderate snow falling.

We are quickly closing in on an inch here in East Setauket...be safe and stay home if you don't have to go out!!

Still tons of people at the stores and the roads are already HORRIBLE!!
