I had no idea it was supposed to snow tonight, but we just had a snow shower and now I see the forecast says it will snow some in the morning.

MRX had a 20% mix for my area

Both the 12z and 18z GFS have another system in the d8-9 range.  This is the time of year(shoulder season) when that model can score a coup just like it did a couple of days ago.  Not saying it is the gospel, but I think the end of the month is a time frame to be watched.  That was a pretty stout run.  The 12z Euro has the amplification w/out the storm.

Mountains were pretty! We got a few runs up at Sugar. After hitting 80 in Chatty last week, driving up and seeing snow before reaching the Tri Cities was a trip. Great time with family spring break.

So looks like the AC will be humming this weekend. Then back to slightly below normal temps next week (except midweek). Should even get cool and cozy nights and mornings a few days next week. WNW flow in early spring is a wild ride!

Appears that the last few days of March will usher in a warm early April. Mid Atlantic ridge may not be centered over the Valley. See if it'll let in some April showers.

Looks like after being bottled up for a spell  next winter we are headed back into a EQBO,potential for a rock PV

Sorry for the ignorance, but is that good or bad if you want snow?

The last 18 months give or take in my area have been strangely dry. It was dry middle to end of Summer last year, Fall was dry - but usually is - and Winter was not really that wet. Now, in Spring, at least so far, it is dry and I dont see anything in the next ten days or so to change that. Those that follow long range stuff, are we headed into another dry Summer? Coming off a dry Summer/Fall/Winter that will not be good. I am accustomed to having the big rains during the Winter/Spring. Just me opining.

Well that rain line was just a splash.  I sure hope more develops.  I was surprised to hear the news reporting in Asheville on so many wild fires already over that way. I’m hoping this does not turn into a long drought with a lot of fires.  My yard already shows summer type cracks.

We've had quite a few fires already this spring too. Very rare for spring to see fires here.

It rained heavily the other night but fires have started back this week. Hopefully the rains return. Above normal temps look like they will close out April, might risk early tomato planting. I normally hold out until April 30th if the first week of May forecast is warm. Have had frosts ihto late May before.

Ditto.  My garden has been doing decently well so far, but I too have fought the urge to plant the warm wx stuff.  I may risk planting 1-2 in a cold frame next week.  This pattern seems pretty stable, but we have both seen warm, spring patterns flips to one frost after another.  The drought monitor has drought expanding across much of Tennessee.

Rain Saturday night was an Easter miracle. I don't see much more for a couple weeks. Might be able to get some quality precip late April but delays would not surprise me. Gotta chip away at what will become a significant SER and Mid-Atlantic ridge.

Then getting into May (note weeks 3-5 are notoriously awful forecasts) charts show WNW flow and only normal precip. Meh. Weeks 3-5 are considered the un-sweet forecast range beyond daily extended forecasting yet not covered by reliable seasonal signals.

Hope for all our yards is El Nino signal kicks in quickly in June. Normal heights and seasonable moisture would open the door for summer thundershowers. We'll see if / how the drought impacts dewpoints though.
