Im definitely happy for the ones who dont normally see much. This is yalls big one possibly. I hope the 3K NAM is wrong because that would be a complete dumpster fire up this way.

olafminesaw
People going to be calling bust tomorrow morning when there is expected to be a massive dry slot over central NC with banding to the NW. Going to have to be patient and wait for everything to fill in and pivot, just something to keep in mind

It started snowing around 10 or 10:30 AM and then everyone started leaving. Even though I lived 5 minutes away, it took me 20 minutes to get home. Some of my co-workers had to abandon their cars and walk home. Thankfully, Wake County had already canceled school that day.https://www.ncrabbithole.com/p/raleigh-nc-greatest-snow-picture-winter-weather Yea there was no road driving home for that storm. It stuck so quick.

It makes sense but it's kinda a 50/50 at this point

Regan
He went extreme… maybe his bigger focus is the clt area. I know we aren’t sure about a dry slot, but wow that was abrupt. I could see a him pitting a circled area and a disclaimer, but dang. The other tv mets are still in the 3-6 or 4-7 range.

That was just a small one. That hill was a skating rink and someone had a transmission fluid leak onto a hot engine. Poof.
Regan
Wow. Just compared Brad P and Allan Huffman maps. Idk what to think about this. I just watched Brads vid and he seems to think the 2 pieces will not merge. Ever WRAL is still saying 3-6 an ABC is saying 4-7. Idk that I’d have put 1-3 like Brad did. Not on a graphic. Nothing strong is in agreement.

When’s the last time we had a significant snow storm where the majority of the snow falls during the day and not at night? Been here 37 years and don’t really recall any. You have a great point. My vague memory always remembers them starting around dusk or in the early AM hours. Waking up to way more than forecast. Every one I can remember during the day was a temperature battle that cut totals.
