ICE Storm discussion. 
 00z H-triple-R  has increased ICE accumulations for Nashville, Franklin, and Murfreesboro in the overnight into Sunday morning. Surface warm tongue never really reaches Nashville in the latest H-triple-R. Ice accretion > 1 inch looking possible per latest graphic (yellow).

West of I-81 in TRI...we need temps to get above freezing ASAP.  Lots of ice building up w/ a steady train of more precip inbound.

The horseshoe effect that shows up in East Tennessee at times, is also reflected by an even larger horseshoe at times like this. It's going to be much colder to our southwest, west, southeast and east by tomorrow morning. 

It's crazy how often systems cut in our area vs up the other side of the mountains. I'd guess for every system that goes from Tallahassee to Raleigh,  25 cut through some part of Tennessee.

I just measured on a metal fence and a tree branch. I've got .31 ice accrual. Light freezing rain and up to 29 now.

Sitting right at 32 here now. Fortunately, as there is a good coating here. Can hear tree limbs in the woods around my house occasionally make the cracking sound you often hear in ice storms.

Definitely dodged a bullet here for ice again...temps hovering 30-31 only allowed marginal icing (.10" or less storm total). Hope everyone makes thru with power...been fun tracking even tho outcome wasn't exactly what was hoped for.

There wasn't nearly as much sleet as most models predicted, which is why I've gotten so much freezing rain. Especially crazy sleet totals the Canadian with some of its wonky runs. It got the idea of the mix storm first, but had too much sleet. But it often overdoes cold, so I assume that happened here.

Currently a 10+ degree difference between me (31.5) and 3 or so miles up the road (low to mid 40s multiple stations)
