We have gone over to mostly sleet in West Knoxville, with snow when it gets hard. I would imagine we will flip to Fr Rain soon.

It is when rates fall it switches to freezing rain and drizzle, then switches to almost 100% sleet when rate increases.

Satellite eye view of wave two starting in TX looks convective. 

 

A little curious to see a sounding toward Austin.

yeah... I don't know if it matters in the synoptic environment, but the hodographs there have a little bit of a sickle in them.

I get a few more flakes when rates go up, but 90% sleet for me.

I'm getting at nickel size flakes with pellets mixed in, probably moderate rate. Temp is 30.

 very fine snow (same all day no fat flakes)

 humidity 85% (up from 71% earlier)

 dew point 12 (up from 6° earlier)

 looking at a huge dry slot to the west over Arkansas confused about what’s going to happen bc nothing from here bc no models are in agreeance and I also feel like what’s happening isn’t what was modeled?

 My auto immunes are VERY unhappy and I am incredibly swollen. My today very veiny feet in which you can typically see each bone and numerous veins are wildly swollen and inflamed - looks like I blew up one of those gloves at the drs office, skin feels tight, hands are starting to feel the same. Anyone else in here have auto immunes and dealing with any weather induced side effects?

Seeing the same near Karns/Cedar Bluff. Mostly sleet with some larger flakes mixed in when the rates improve. I've been holding steady at 28 degrees for a couple hours now.

I don't really have any help with the Immune issues My wife has Immune problems, but she does not have any weather related problems, take care of yourself and I have already prayed for you.

Whichever model had the snow line furthest south...wins the first few hours.  Light snow IMBY w/ some intensity to go with it.  Dusting.

My wife is also having a rough time today. Though it doesn’t sound as rough as what you’re dealing with.

I hate it for her…. My wife is recovering from double mastectomy because of breast cancer and the medicines that she’s on make her walk around like a 70-year-old woman. It kills me to watch her like that but there’s somebody out there who’s got it a lot worse and so we’re thankful that’s not us

It looks like at H5 the kicker dropping in from Canada has kind of ended up sweeping everything, including the Baja wave, out north and east. All that spawns a gulf low, but nothing too wound up. Just a massive load of moisture overrunning and what the New England weenies call a southwest flow event. It doesn’t all ever really phase so much as it just keeps truckin.

Flake size staying around nickel at best but lots of them now. Very high ratio powder. 

About the best contrast I have is taking a photo towards a vehicle. Curious if the big flakes come right before sleet or not.
