Pittsburgh/Western PA WINTER ‘25/‘26

Recommended Posts

Definitely going to come down to where the relatively narrow band of frontogenesis sets up.  It's going to be cold-cold, so the ratios should be quite decent with any kind of moderate snow growth under convergence.

It's only about two to three tenths of precip total for AGH.  Have to make it count because it could be the last look at snow until towards New Year's or into 2026.  Christmas Week is looking too warm.

If we mange at least 3 inches I may try to take the boy sled riding, might be the last opportunity for a couple weeks. Sunday should look and feel like winter. Should have NNW flow and lake streamers / snow showers.

Certainly looks warm after mid week. There should be at least a few "colder"  periods after a cutter or something for a day or two mixed in, might be able to thread the needle but otherwise not a great look. Hopefully by Christmas we see some favorable looks on the ensembles for a return to winter.

Quietest I’ve ever seen this board with a WSW

Its such a small area that is gonna have a chance at really maximizing snow potential that its not really exciting people. Gonna have to see where the bands set up.

A reminder: even though the mood seems to be we’re failing to cash in from this “great pattern” before it ends next week, all we need is 3.6” tomorrow to be above normal snowfall for December, an amount that seems very possible.

I would be pretty excited if I lived between the Mason Dixon line and I-70. Im thinking 2-4 for the city north. Don't get me wrong, it should be fun, cold powder is my favorite. Sunday may also feature some robust lake bands (looks like maybe a lake Huron connection) so that might add a lottery jackpot and add to the wintry feel of the day.

Anybody under this band? Curious if its putting down anything. Its only a few miles north of my yard, hoping it drifts south a bit. Contemplating going for a drive. :snowing:

Went right over my house. Pretty intense for about 30 minutes. Picked up a quick 1.5"  Had to drive home in it from AGC. Went from nothing to a mess in a few miles.

I think the other thing - not a lot to “track” per se. Just a clipper with decent potential due to ratios and banding.

Yep the solution really hasnt changed much. A few wobbles north and south but overall it hasn't really changed.
