E PA/NJ/DE Winter 2025-26 Obs/Discussion

After today we should see temperatures at above normal levels for the remainder of the work week. In fact, after tomorrow morning, we should remain above freezing day and night until likely next Sunday morning. This should finally start to melt away much of the snow cover which as of today has been on the ground for 31 straight days which is tied for the 12th longest stretch and 16th overall since 1893. We should see multiple rain chances with light rain possible Wednesday and more beneficial rains toward the weekend. The next chance at any wintry precipitation will be toward the end of next weekend.

Hard to get excited until we see the cmc and euro come on board. Wave spacing coming off the pac is the reason we’re seeing large differences in the models. Let’s see what rest of 12z shows

Being in the bullseye 7 days out rarely works out with this type of setup. This is more likely than not to turn into a mix or rain event IMO.

We have a decaying block going for us which is usually a good sign of a big storm. Lets see.

7.5" snow/ice pack here. Crazy how long this has been around. Last night's event was 'technically' snow on snow/sleet on snow.

4-5 days more if i had to guess. 40's by day and 33F nights are going to get the melt on

Probably touching 49-52 here in the lower lands so I’d say most of our pack should be gone by Friday or so especially if we add a bit of rain minus piles.
