Just to give a perspective of how powerful this storm is, both airports in Houston are in a longterm ground stop due to sustained winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 60. This is well behind the front.

Yeah looking in on the TN forum.  Several are reporting a changeover to snow along with Alabama seeing significant snow also.

That's a great find Steve.  The winds are going to be howling.

This is going to be one heck of a temp drop if we want snow in Asheville. Its still in the mid 50s. We need a 20 degree drop in 2 or 3 hours.

Maybe why GSP is not very excited, or really at all for Buncombe.  I hope that they are wrong.

I know this is the mountain thread but I think yall will rack up with this.

These are from where I live just south of of Birmingham. It snowed hard for several hours and had stopped but we had an inch in spots. I only share here because yall have me when I visit. We over performed here!

That's amazing! The ground is white up on Hemphill Bald just above Cataloochee with heavy snow. 37 at the base with a rain/snow mix and just above the base is all snow now. My temperature is down to 42 now and falling fairly quickly.
