Going to be in an interesting spot at my house at 2900’ in Black Mountain. I have no idea how we do in these type events since I havent experienced one here. Hoping we can hang on to the snow and get a couple of inches before the sleet. Worried about the freezing rain as well here.

Can someone help me understand about plumbing/pipes in this situation?  I have water turned off in my condo at the master valve inside my unit.  Assuming power goes out so there's no heat, can pipes still burst?  Should I turn the water off at the master valve and then drain the water by running the sink until there is no water flowing?   I'm not a plumbing expert

You want to open up a faucet at the lowest point to take any pressure out and leave it open after the water is shut off
