Tyler Penland Posted January 11 Share Posted January 11 The 3km NAM looks convective tomorrow afternoon, works in nearly 100j/kg of surface cape and some mixed layer as well, maybe enough for some isolated lightning strikes as the trough axis swings through. Next weekend is certainly interesting. One thing that gives me caution is the GFS verification scores have not been great lately. We typically do pretty good with the ULL's here in WNC, but if we could get some Gulf interaction like the 0z GFS showed it could turn into a lot more. No accumulations and frankly I was a bit surprised that we would see snow today down to the Valley floor. Cataloochee is snowing and the snow guns are blowing!
