Hit 89 today. 89 this time of year actually feels great, especially with the lower humidity and cooler nights. Summer is back, a long with 2 more weeks of no rain for me. Dry as fk...grass is brown, trees dropping leaves. Definitely drought conditions here.

I agree about today’s warmth. Today’s mid 80s felt pretty decent due to a nice NE breeze and dewpoints in the low 60s. It was nice enough to get me to do an impromptu walk at the park.

In stark contrast to your area due to over double the normal Aug rains and plentiful rains May-July overall, our water tables are getting a much needed break with the mainly dry (only 0.9” MTD).

I walked outside again at the park just like I did late afternoon Fri. I had low 70s temps and dewpoints of 60. Despite no breeze, I didn’t sweat at all and actually could feel a very slight chill!

Low of 63, high of 80. This incredible September weather is sure welcomed but we could use some rain

We have had .08 inches in the last 30 days with none in sight for the next 2 weeks on the models. Everyone's lawn is toast, and oak trees dropping leaves. People on the coast should get some with that low though. High 80's with some low 90's thrown in for my area for the next few weeks.

No rain in the forecast for at least the next 10 days. What will it take to break the cycle?

Need a tropical system which seems unlikely. No, I am not wishing for a Hurricane, but a nice tropical system to dump 3to4 inches would be nice. My plants around my house are looking pretty bad. I remember complaining about the non stop rain in June. The precip pattern is all or nothing.

Hatteras buoy is now reporting sustained 35 kt wind with gusts approaching 50 kts. Likely to be an unpleasant day on the obx

Just drove from Nags Head back through currituck. It's terrible. It was pouring on the beach. Then not so much through southern Currituck until north of Grandy and downhill again. Very gusty. Nasty. Feels damp but non tropical.

Bastardi is mad that this isn’t being highlighted in the NHC TWOs so far. Remember the recent no name system that hit SE NC with extreme flooding along with TS force sustained winds? JB is still mad about that and I don’t blame him.

They read this forum and listened to everyone complaining about them naming every cloud lol.

Looking at this system it appears fully non-tropical at the moment. Corbina and Nags head are now gusting over 50mph at the moment, very impressive for a non tropical low. Would not shock me to see some gusts into the 60’s if the system keeps tightening up. Name or no name, the OBX are experiencing mid tier TS impacts at the moment
