Maggie Valley Steve
Having a 15% Hatched for large hail is nothing to sneeze at for our Mountain folks. I'll be watching to see how things unfold for our neighbors in Eastern Tennessee in the afternoon. It's a good day to keep an eye on the weather.

So, most of the Upstate and all of Western NC are colored yellow, meaning "Slight" Risk. Yet, the description says that the circled area "WILL SEE" especially large hail. Wouldn't that mean that they are under a High Risk? Or maybe it mean all of the area is under a slight risk for hail, but if it does hail in the circled area, it will be large hail. See why I'm confused?

Maggie Valley Steve
Yeah, I was coming in here to mention the possibility of multiple days of heavy rainfall chances. We're getting to that time of year for potential monsoonal gyre tropical development as well. The models are hinting of a weak system along the Northern Gulf Coast in the week ahead.

Maggie Valley Steve
We're getting a loud message from GSP and the State regarding this heavy rain event. That's a good thing! I'm sure that a lot of folks get a little nervous when we have a heavy rainfall event forecast for our area. 1
Met1985
Looks like we are done with the long duration rainfall but we've got storms popping in SW mountains that can lay some rain down.
Maggie Valley Steve
The models suggest we move to a typical chance of daytime showers the next few days. It looks like the persistent Eastern trough lingers into Memorial Day.

Was about to say the same thing we’ve got a crazy storm blowing up just to the north of the tons of lighting and rains getting heavier. NWS just issued a special weather statement for 40 mph winds and 1/2 inch hail
gopack42
Under a Severe T-storm watch. Wonder if the storms can get going any further south than they currently are up towards KY. I just flew home from Japan and am glad I beat this mess yesterday and today.

Met1985
So basically all the 12z models have this line as pretty lame and as soon as it hits the mountains it just falls apart. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
