I don’t remember that storm probably because it was a raw nasty white rain fest here but I guess the 8-12” predictions were because the storm likely closed off too late or too far north. if the low tracked 75 miles south maybe we would have gotten the bigger snowfall totals? Yes it was a lesser version of the March 2001 bust lol.

What's a geography bee like? Do you have to spell geography place names or is it like the game Geography where you have to name a place that starts with the same letter the previous place someone said ended with? I love that game too-- I played it a lot in my middle school years (7th and 8th grade.) It's global geography facts. Like the name of a river or a mountain range or name of a province or whatever. They ask some obscure stuff at the state championship.

The wind held off in Queens until that line of storms rotated through with the circulation toward the end of the event. Our strongest winds came with sunshine ironically, but they were really strong, the airports gusted to 70mph.

Yep that was intense. Had numerous trees down in my neighborhood too. As usual with the east side of any tropical system here-a couple showers but very high wind. Luckily it didn’t hit NC as a borderline cat 2/3, in that case power here could’ve been off for weeks.
