Hoosier
This ECMWF run is an abortion for LAF. The 850 mb 0C is basically right overhead at 96 hours.
Chicago Storm
Location strength? Looks like an elongated low/inverted trough feature which moves west/east. 0.25"+ QPF across the Dakotas, most of MN, WI and down towards DTX. No pockets of 0.50"+ this run like the 12z had. The area of 0.25"+ is wider this run too.
baroclinic_instability
Well if that doesn't throw a wrench for us Ohio guys. First time every model agrees and then the Euro has to screw it all up lol. Oh jeeze, what an a*shole lol. Jp. You had me worried Ill give you that cause I am on my cell so I can't check the models right now and furthermore it isn't out for me yet lol Man you are hardcore, checking the weather forums on your cell phone. Moneyman
EURO has the same storm on christmas eve as the GFS just about 12 hrs slower.
dilly84
What an interesting combo, how does that taste? Put it this way, I used to drink Whiskey sours, and my wifes uncle told me about crown and cream soda and well put it this way, that is all I drink now. It is absolutely great. dilly84
So I guess we need to root for the gfs and against the euro this run. The big storm last week had different models going different ways, this time nearly all are the same. Hopefully it is wrong and the gfs comes out smelling like a rose. How does the Christmas Eve storm look this way?
cmichweather
EURO has the same storm on christmas eve as the GFS just about 12 hrs slower. that christmas storm is looking real good if the mean flow can keep the S/W far enough north, its gonna be one of those w-e storms that strengthens as it moves east and dumps on alot of people and doesn't disappoint many with rain as it never cuts but we'll see this first storm is the most important and how it interacts or reforms the block in the 120hr frame. I only drink Crown. I can only handle so much of it straight up though. I do enjoy a glass on the rocks every now and then though.

dilly84
lookin like the NAM sniffed out another northern setup as all models came n tonight other than the ggem...84hr ukie a little further n than the NAM Yea but still major differences. The GFS and Nam hammers CMH while the euro gives a whopping 1.4 inches lol
cmichweather
i wanna see the long range euro, that trough digging into the west and how the pacific works out could paint an ugly picture down the road
dilly84
Interested to see what the ensembles look like for the euro, curious to see what the qpf looks like on those. The op isn't nearly as strong as other models are depicting.

Stevo6899
When does thing thing come into the west for a full sample? Should be interesting to see if the models show it getting stronger. Grand Rapids AFD said 2 days ago that there is a possibility that the models could be too weak with it.
BowMeHunter
Interesting. I prefer it straight up, but may have to give that a try sometime, maybe with something cheaper though like Windsor. +1 Told myself I will not get emotionally involved with this one too much until at least tomorrow.. So fail.. Now there is a possible storm 2 late week

dilly84
+1 Told myself I will not get emotionally involved with this one too much until at least tomorrow.. So fail.. Now there is a possible storm 2 late week Hey now I enjoy it straight up at times. But I have a crown rocks glass, I fill it halfway with crown and half cream soda, perfect mix. But if you ever get the chance try crown royal black and crown royal xtra rare. Both excellent. As for the storm, I dont know what to think now. all models came in with a great storm for us in ohio and the euro comes in with crap for us. BTW what does that Christmas Eve storm look like for us down here.
