  1. The NY/MA border was very icy on my way home today. Roads fine but look at the trees.
  2. I posted on giphy which converted to a gif I could take a link for and drop here. Saw Phin do it earlier and now I love it.
  3. Not bad out. Finally getting some good snow. Awful trying to shovel.
  4. Sleet accumulation is legit. Should be fun shoveling today lol.
  5. We did get a quick glaze last night before going to pingers. About 1.5” of sleet here.
  6. Have we though? No hurricanes. No majors. A fair number of impactful TS. Not sure that’s enough but why am I talking tropical in February.
  7. All good. I had very little faith in my report which is why I didn’t report to the NWS. One day I’d like to be able to collect more data including LE during snow events.
  8. Yeah, we did. 6-12 west, 12-18 central and 18-24 east. Actually not terrible outside of the central zone. An exhausting storm to track.
  9. Did you get anything Christmas Eve? If so, did that enhance your grade at all?
  10. Also for reference, that’s about a 20.3’ crest. Moderate stage is 24’ and we haven’t seen a 25’ crest since 1987 though we came close in 2011.
  11. Looking at Hartford and E.Hartford in that extraordinary cover image. With the levee system now, it’s so much better protected but I always worry about making sure they remain maintained. Can’t imagine a 38’ crest. Above: Asylum st near the state Capitol Another aerial shot of the flooding. E.Hartford on the right. Basically wiped out. The levees today (from the April 2019 flood). The river for reference should be behind the tree line. Iconic Colt Building
  12. Good thing this winter is turning in another garbage storm after the midterm grade was sent to the registrar’s office. Otherwise it might have dropped a letter grade lol.
  13. Crazy how I’ve been in a relative lucky spot this season.
  14. Just arrived for the reaction to COMMANDER FOOTBALL Y’all did not disappoint
  15. I just mean in the sense that there’s not this pronounced warm nose way above 0C. That second one Berg posted is def sleety.
  16. Looks like it. Very close to a paste job though.
  17. Given how divided the forum has been with regard to snow totals and wintry conditions, I figured it'd be interesting to see what everyone's midterm grade is (DJFM). I'm sitting at 23.0" for the season so far, which is probably right at climo. I've had two warning level events--one positive bust and one that was essentially a fail in the snowfall department. December was a disaster overall, but I lucked out with a nice Christmas Eve event and ice on Christmas. January has been cold with many single digit nights and a sub 20 day. No below zero days imby though. Overall, despite a rough December and recent "fail" the season has been nice so far. Midterm grade: B+
