  1. 9 days of 95+ with 7 at 100+...yeah, that would have to be an all-timer if it actually occurred.
  2. Swamp and brook behind the house are completely devoid of water. Just mud. Never seen it like that in 13 years of living here. Nearby, the 8 Mile river is getting very, very low. Soon to be just stretches of pools of water rather than anything flowing. Stein lives!!
  3. Steined again. .01" on the day. Not really expecting much from the dying line of storms moving through central CT right now.
  4. Heard some rumbles off to the south and southeast...managed to pick up 20 drops so far.
  5. Packing tape on the hat first. Then carefully spread the Tanglefoot only on the packing tape. After the walk, carefully grab an edge of the packing tape and peel the whole thing off and into the garbage. Repeat for the next day. edit - and wear the hat backwards, Deerfly strategy is to fly around and assess it's target first, then attack from behind.
  6. Looking forward to whatever we get today down here in SE CT. Severe or not, I just hope we get some decent rain IMBY. Of note - 9 years ago today, July 25th, 2013 it was 58 degrees with rain and a few rumbles of thunder on the day. An interesting July anomaly.
  7. Humid and warm. Overnight low was 76. Deer flies were late this year but now we have bumper crop. From one 30 minute walk in the woods behind the house.
  8. 92/64 imby. Toastah! Loving every minute of it.
  9. 72/69 off a low of 66. 1 hours of gardening done. Getting ready to head to the beach now. Actually hotter down at KGON now than here - 82/70 off a low of 72. I'm sure that'll reverse later in the day though.
  10. Another moist morning. House windows are all fogged up and everything covered with a sheet of dew. Summah!
  11. 92/72 off a high of 93. hot n moist.
  12. Hours and hours of mostly light to occasionally moderate rain yesterday with a few breaks in between. .70" in the bucket. A nice drink for the garden. Toasty today, but not what I would consider brutal, we'll see about tomorrow.
  13. Just the fish in LI Sound getting the special marine warnings...of course they won't care about the 92/72 tomorrow.
  14. Is there more rain after this in SE New England or are we steined again with .01-.05" ??
  15. Steined again. Some nice slow moving, heavy rain showers around and we got .02". Didn't even get wet under the trees. moist, but not wet.
  16. 1 rumble of thunder, 12 drops of rain. Steined again. Nice little storms popped up on the sea breeze front in S. New London County....just a bit outside. 3 days in row with rain within a mile or so of the house.
  17. Severe warned. Good rotation. No Tor warning yet.
  18. The steining will continue IMBY. 7/10 split overnight. Zero rain.
  19. Finally some dews. 75/70 IMBY. 76/72 over at KSNC and 74/72 at KGON. Moist.
  20. Steined in SE CT so far. (not that I was really expecting much given the tenor of the season so far)
  21. Not very hot....but definitely doing the dews. 80/72 imby. Sweatin' like crazy on the normal doggo walk.
  22. Fantastic summer day. 86 off a high of 88 imby. Was at Hammonasset most of the day, biking and beaching with the family. Water wasn't even that cold.
  23. Yep, cilantro has been crazy this year. Thai basil is okay but still small. Holy Basil and some Thai squash and pumpkins are what really need the heat. Holy Basil is barely bigger than when they sprouted 2+ weeks ago.
  24. Finally some decent heat. A bunch of SE Asian veggies in the garden that only really grow well when the temps are hot. These ~75 and dry days don't really work well for them. Hopefully the warmer and more humid regime sticks around for a while.
