  2. Agree with this. We arrived at Smuggs one year in a light snow, JUST beating the pounding that occurred later that night, woke to 27 new inches of snow, EPIC weekend. Travel DURING snows is a bit iffy, but they do an outstanding job of clearing roads right after the event. Yep, 81 up to 88 to 87 and pick up Rt 4 at Glens Falls. RT 22A is the 'short cut' up towards Burlington if headed to Smuggs.
  3. Been to Stowe, Smuggs, Killigton, Jay, Wildcat, Bolten Valley, Burke and Sunday River. I would go Smuggs or Sunday River for a 4 yo's first time. Both are VERY family friendly. Burke for a third choice.
  4. What is this 'full sun' you are speaking of? Haven't seen the sun since Friday afternoon here. Still heavy cloud cover at 1:30 pm here, although have made it above freezing at 33.4 degrees. That is first time since Friday.
  5. Down this way I think we are VERY borderline, but you never know.....
  6. 12/5: 1.0 12/9: 0.5 12/10: 20.3 01/13: 4.4 01/14: 0.5 Total: 26.7 Exactly climo! All bonus from here on.
  7. Just a bit more fell overnight, recorded 0.5 for yesterday and making a 4.9 storm total here. 3.5 is on the ground.
  8. Happened here last night twice! Frustrating to say the least. I think it happened in C'ville also.
  9. Same here. Been lightly snowing last 3 hours here, picked up a new 0.4, so that gets me to just under 5 inches at 4.8 for a storm total. Hey, I'll take it
  10. I guess not, but maybe you could invest in a new ruler for next storm!?! Congrats on breaking into double digits.
  11. Agree! Was figuring they'd throw out a 6.8 or something......
  12. That is what happened out my way, about 4 inches of snow, then about 2am it flipped to sleet that packed it down and about two hours of drizzle/snizzle. Heavy, heavy stuff to shovel. BUT, it is white and pretty! Been snowing lightly past 2 hours, coated everything back over, looks like another 0.3, but I'll measure here in a few.
  13. Only every 6 hours, over 4 measurements in 24 hours is a no-no per NWS.
  14. Love the sparkly crystals showing up! Awesome storm for y'all!
  15. Well, after HOURS of snizzle here I am back to officially light snow. 29.0/27.9 Vis down to about a mile
  16. SO that is showing -upper 20's around here, coldest temp I've recorded since 1979 is -21 on 1/19/85, this would shatter that by a good bit......
  17. 12/5: 1.0 12/9: 0.5 12/10: 20.3 01/13: 4.4 Total: 26.2 Only 0.5 off seasonal average now.
  18. Sometime after 1-2 am sleet mixed with or it all changed to sleet. Had 0.9 on board, storm total 4.4 here. Sleet knocked the amount on the ground down to 3.5 this am. Cloudy and foggy here, not much on precip, maybe a little snizzle. 0.56 liquid, so that works out to 7.8-1 ratio of what has fallen. Temp still 28.6, less than 3 degree swing over 24 hours. Off to update snow totals......
