  1. Could have swore I'd put this in earlier this month...anyway, my numbers for the month of November 2018. 4.50 inches of rainfall for the month, a +1.32 above the normal. 17 wet days, 7 days with a T and 6 dry days. Wettest day was the 13th with 1.08 inches falling. No measurable snowfall for month, (but 7 T's!) vs a normal of 0.6 inches. Averaged high was 50.1 degrees vs a normal of 57.0 degrees, a -6.9 below normal. Warmest temp was 70.8 degrees on the 1st. Averaged low was 32.3 degrees, a +0.6 above normal. Coldest temp recorded was 18.6 degrees on the 29th. Overall averaged temp for the month was 41.2 degrees vs a normal of 44.3 degrees, a -3.1 below normal. Set three new records, record lows on the 11th and 12th and a new record 'cool max' set on the 28th. Highest wind recorded during the month was 43 mph on the 11th.
  2. But...but...but HOW does the snow get into your sump pump???? Collapsed roofs?
  3. Agree with this. I was hoping (along with many) that the midwest vort would have caught up earlier. It MAY have robbed me and western areas a bit, but it would have pushed low end warning snows into DC/Balt corridor and east. Once it was apparent that wasn't gonna happen I said I-66 would be a wall.....
  4. Sweet! It was 11.6 at 6 am here, I saw a couple near zero's up in the valley your way a bit ago. Nice rad cooling.
  5. Trying to round up some business, huh?
  6. 12/5: 1.0 12/9: 0.5 12/10: 20.3 Total: 21.8
  7. I do CoCoRaHS, so the 0.5 is from 7am report TODAY, the 20 will be reported as 12/10 when the 7am report is made.
  8. I think we got REALLY lucky on y'alls (north) behalf, the 30-35 dbz's came up to I-64 line and just stayed........for MOST of the day.
  9. One more, a deck pic.....it has collapsed the awning on the swing
  10. I JUST got home at 8, 1.5 hours for a normal 10 minute drive. This is just INCREDIBLE! I have 20.5 inches of snow on the day, 20 on the snowboard from 7 am (6:30)reading. It is STILL snowing but letting up. This is an epic fail on NWS, my forecast was 3-5 at 5, upped to 6-10 just before I left for work.
  11. I am west and a LITTLE north, had 11.2 inches between those dates here.
  12. I made that same call couple days ago. Wasn't what I WANTED to make, but couldn't see if (snow) getting any further north. Still snowing here, just looked out the front door of the building. 1-3 inch rates since 3 pm when we had 11! I'm gonna take a guess at 14-15, but once home I'll report.
  13. WOW! Man, you and I aren't 40 miles apart as the crow flies. I am at work, just off Low Moor exit on I-64 and although NOT scientific, stuck tape measure in 4 different spots and got 10-11 inches each time. about 5 minutes ago.
  14. That is one heck of a band from Martinsville to Wytheville and heading north....... Saw a couple 3in/hr rate reports out of northern NC counties when it went thru on NWS Blacksburg's snow report.
  15. From what I am seeing on radar vs traffic cams and what happened at the house this am, just before greens arrive the snow overcomes the dry air and starts to fall.
  16. OK, snow started falling here about 5:30 am, about 90 minutes head of the modeled advance. Hopefully that is a good sign for further north that it is coming in a bit faster and eroding the dry air quicker.
  17. I see a SMALL jog north potential, but the I-66 corridor might as well be the Great Wall of China. Bummer there isn't a better escape route/retreating H so the storm could make even a small curve north.
  18. Pepperidge Farms remembers.....
  19. Well.......what fell the previous 6 or 7 times in Nov didn't add up enough to measure lol. "T" city! Hey, it is a 12/5 snow!
  20. Picked up an inch of snow overnight. Still have some flurries flying and 30.8/26.6 currently.
