    Hi WF. Sadly you aren't in a great location for radar. Blacksburg picks up some for you, and Sterling doesn't pick up well either. The box containing I-64/RT 220/RT33/I-81 could use some radar love. I know I am on the edge of the 'V' from Blacksburg that the beam gets partially blocked, VERY visible in light shallow snow events like lake effect streamers.

    Down to 37.6/33.3 and seeing a few mangled flakes mixing in with the rain, snow line down to about 2500 ft from looking at mountains and from cameras.

    Still some in parking lots here from Dec, hard to believe as warm and wet as it has been. Least we are turning white above 4K again this am!

    Cloudy and in upper 30's this am. Yesterday felt 'springish' with a breeze, full sun and temps in low/mid 50's.

    Nope. Precip never made it to me until just before midnight. The DP and climbed to 31 by then, temp locked in the 39 range all night while DP continued to climb, no sleet when it started. STILL 39.9/39.4 at 7:30 this am. Another 0.44 to add to the record numbers for the year.

    So...NWS failed again on forecast here, was for a high of 49, high was 39.8 and it has fell to 39.1/27.8 currently. Wonder if we could get a little surprise sleet until the dew and temp met when precip arrives, I'll be watching. Radar is showing pinks just to my west as it advances.

    Merry Christmas folks! Although it is cold enough (28.8) and we have a decent cloud deck AND radar echos overhead, nada making it to the ground. A white Christmas it is not to be this year. Well, except in JonJonland and other higher locations. We relegated to watching cams for our 'fix'. Hope all have a great day and those battling illness can get better quick.

    Much better first full day of winter, upper 30's and windy with flurries in the breeze. Nothing accumlation-wise down low, but the tops of mountains look nice.

    Flurries here overnight but no accumulation, but the tops of mountains are white. Ended up with 2.64 for the storm, 6.55 for the month and 58.61 for the year.

    After a 54.4 degree high around 1pm, winds turned W about 4 pm and temp has fallen to 40.1/38.0. Question is will the moisture hang around long enough for the colder air to catch it like down SW of me in Bluefield/Wise/Tazewell? We shall see...... Another 1+ in the gauge today, just adding to the record rainfall for the year.

    Well, I have about 7 years on you (yep, I'm that person screaming to get off my lawn). LOL on the age thing...it is starting to catch up with me but I had people taking 10-15 years off my age all thru my 40's and early 50's. I guess that is a good thing, no? Back to weather, absolutely pouring here, had 1.74 at 7 am and a good 1/2 inch since. Wet, wet, wet.

    Congrats! I'll have 32 years in on 2/2...yes, I started on Groundhog's Day, and at times it feels just like the movie.....no matter what I try to do to make it better/different the same stupid outcome happens lol. Gotta love corporate. About 4 more years and I'm pulling the plug, and likely headed west.

    I can see bare ground in a few spots this am, down to 3 inches on average. 1.10 inches of rain yesterday and 1.08 SWE still in the snow! 38.2 /37.6 out there now, yesterdays numbers where 38.9/34.2 H/L
