1917 must have been a doozy! I (and all the CO-Ops within 30 miles) are running -8.5 to -10 for the month to date and the stations that have been around a while have 1917 one to 2.5 degrees colder!! Crazy.

Very foggy out there this morning!!

Thru the first 12 days of this month I have set 7 new records, all either new 'cool max' or record overnight lows. 7. That is crazy. Running a -9.3 for the month currently.

I CRUSHED a new 'cool max' for the date, 46.6 is all I made it to yesterday for a high. Temp actually started falling a little after noon to the upper 30's and has stayed there since. Previous record for the date was 54 degrees in 1989, that is over 7 degrees!!! Currently 39.6/31.4 with a light W wind at 3 and cloudy skies. That helped keep the temp up overnight.

Running a -7.9 currently to date for the month, including hitting 82 on the 4th. Crazy!!

Yep, you can narrow it down to the spine then. Wisp thru Davis and Canaan down to the 'Shoe. Not a lot of 'populated' places thru there either. But enough close to make it work. And trust me, I KNOW about the 'pricey', son lives in Breck area.

Well, I was proven wrong! Another March in May day to savor before inferno gets cranking over the weekend. Just back from up there again, 33 degrees and heavy clouds and 20-30 mph winds. Walked Bear Loop trail. Not another soul around. About as good as it can get in my book. I read somewhere this morning that someone (CAPE maybe?) was looking for a place that doesn't hit 90 and has snow basically year round? Not a cheap place, but I can throw out Summit county CO from a personal experience. SLIGHTLY cheaper is going just south into Park county. It was 43 this morning here at the house, climbed to 46 about 1pm and now has been falling last 2 hours. Currently 44.8 degrees.

JUST missed a record low again this morning, 30.7 degrees was low past 24 hours, record is 30 degrees from 1983. Socked in the clouds and 43.7 degrees this am, may not get a lot warmer going by the forecast. We did hit 65 yesterday afternoon, but the 15-25 mph winds made it not an enjoyable time.

Same here, valley floors leafed out and look springish, the ridge tops still bare. Transition zone is 2000-3500, above there nada. 24 degrees should have put a dent in anything out, to say the least lol!

Third record to fall this am. Yesterday's 30.5 broke 1980's 31 mark, the high then was 50.8, shattering the 55 degree cool max mark set in 1989. The low this am was 29.4, beating 1983's 30 degree reading.

Yep, I just got in. OUTSTANDING day. Walked around our local lake (6-7 miles) then drove up to the airport (3700 ft el) and just enjoyed the mid 30's and 30 mph wind for probably the last time until October. UNLESS I make it out to son's place in Colorado that is.......

So, I set new records (see above). But now that I've had a nap (working 11-7 shift) and looking around at local CO-Ops, seeing the newer, less than 50 year old locations set records too, but the older stations did not. 1917, 1906 and 1968 were VERY cold! The records there are 3-8 degrees colder than what I and newer stations set yesterday/today.

33.6 degrees with scattered frost around this morning. New record low, old was 35 degrees from 1990. AND the 53.8 degree high was a new record 'cool max' for the date, breaking 1992's 56 degree reading.

Yep, looks about the same in Highland county above 4000 foot. Amazing....

Yep, the lower leagues (ECHL, SPHL, etc) have already called their seasons. Wishing AHL and NHL luck to figure out a way, since I am a HUGE hockey fan, but it isn't looking great.

Nope, stayed below 50 degrees all day and night with a chilly E to SE wind. Then the wind swung around to the west about 3 am and I warmed to 51.5 degrees. Still a 2nd place for coolest max for the date. Currently 49.4/44.3 and cloudy again after seeing a few peaks of sun earlier with a WNW wind 6/17.

I vaguely remember a late storm down in NC mountains but I'd have to go record searching.

May 7th 1989 in western VA and WV, from a trace to 2.5 inches reported.

If we stay in this type of a pattern, it likely will!!

It's been a long time since I've seen/heard rain and snow showers specifically mentioned in our TWC forecast in May........

Well, the rain has stopped, just windy, damp and 46.3 degrees now. I'll have to take a look at records to see if I am in line for a 'cool max' temp. High was the 7 am reading of 49.8, been falling since. EDIT- well if it doesn't go up then I will, but barely. Current 'cool max' was set in 2016 at 50.2 degrees, that broke 2003's 52.0. We shall see......
