  1. From one end of the scale to the other lol. The 55.2 degree high is a new record 'cool max' for the date, beating 2006's 56.0 degree reading that was tied with 1988. 3-4 days ago I was setting record 'warm minimums'....... The low was 42.8, could have been much cooler but clouds rolled in not long after dark and locked temp in. Few sprinkles earlier here.
  2. No, no, no! I'm 54 and still am pumped for (whatever) winter we get. I'm more stoked that we FINALLY broke the summer pattern in mid October.
  3. It took a L O N G time, but welcome to fall!
  4. My numbers for Sept 2018 Total rainfall for the month was 9.56 inches vs normal of 3.40 inches, a +6.16 above and a new record for the month, beating 2004's 9.42 inches. There were 17 wet days, 12 dry and 1 with a T. Heaviest was on 28th with 2.62 inches, a new daily record, and 2.61 inches on 17th, also a new daily record. Averaged high temp was 78.9 degrees vs a normal of 77.3 degrees, a +1.6 above normal. Warmest day was on 7th with a 89.0 degree reading. Averaged low temp was 63.1 degrees vs a normal of 52.7 degrees, a +10.4 above normal and shattered the old mark of 60.9 degrees from 2016. Coolest low was 53.9 degrees on the 29th. This sets another record, as I have never recorded a September without a below 50 reading, records back to 1980. Average temp for month was 71.0 degrees vs a normal of 65.0 degrees, a +6.0 degrees above and ties 2016's reading as warmest Sept ever. Did not record a wind speed above 25 mph for the month. There were 11 new records for the month, the above mentioned plus a new 'cool high' on the 10th and 4 new 'warm minimums' on the 14th, 15th, 18th and 22nd. In summary, it was a hot and wet month!
  5. Another 'just missed'. I've had two new record warm minimums and 3 within a degree of the old record in last 7 days....sheesh. WHERE IS FALL?????
  6. Same here jonjon, leaves just starting to turn.

  9. I'm just going to talk about hockey for a while. Seems we can discuss anything we wish even with threads for certain subjects. So, from preseason, what do folks think of the Caps? I watch a lot of their games due to having Comcast sports, and I'll be honest...not impressed. I know, I know, it IS preseason. But still, they haven't exactly been ripping the nets. Maybe they are laying back, maybe it is just an anomalous situation with the Cup win last year........maybe once it gets cold and the pattern changes they will start playing better.
  10. Oh I certainly hope not.....how about some 50's?????
  11. New daily rainfall record of 2.62 inches here, beating old mark of 1.75 from 2004. All creeks and rivers in either action or flood stage around area. Sitting at 9.56 inches for month now.
  12. And I took care of my early season snow need this am up on Loveland pass here in CO. Snowed about 45 minutes, enough to whiten the ground to maybe 1/2 inch....sweet! Temp was 33, wind was about 20mph and gusty. Got back down into Dillon/Silverthorne and 45 degrees and rain.
  13. NWS Blacksburg hoisted up flash flood watches for western part of state......
  14. Yeah, that was a pretty long 'outage'
  15. Just about right for 1st freeze here, maybe a day or two early from average.
  16. Had .61 inches when emptied gauge at 7 am, 3.46 storm total. Set a new 'warm minimum' with a 67.9 degree reading , breaking old mark of 64 from 1991. Tropical, tropical.
  17. Almost full sun and low 80's with what feels like same DP here now....yuck.
  18. The 62.2 high yesterday shattered the old 'cool max' from 1998 of 70. Only 0.21 in the gauge, nowhere near the amount of rain ya'll further north have gotten last few days.
  19. Man, ya'll are WAY ahead of me on yearlies! After this morning's 0.48, sitting at 34.81 inches, and all the CO-OP's within 20 miles are all in the mid 30's too. LOVING this day though, mid/upper 50's with a NE breeze....yep!
  20. Man, why do I ALWAYS miss all the fun!?!?!
  21. August numbers for my location Average high was 82.4 degrees vs a normal of 83.9 degrees, a -1.5 degrees below normal. Highest temp was 88.2 degrees on both the 29th and 30th. Average low was 62.5 degrees vs a normal of 60.4 degrees, a +2.1 degrees above normal. Lowest temp was 50.6 degrees on the 24th. Averaged temp for the month was 72.5 degrees vs a normal of 72.2 degrees, a +0.3 degree above normal. The rainfall for the month totaled 4.21 inches vs a normal of 3.21 inches, a +1.00 inch above normal. The largest rainfall date was on the 3rd with 1.16 inches falling. 22. I can do the 22nd only. But I am long distance, if you get more responses for the other date I'll try to catch the next gathering.
  23. UGH. Just car damage hopefully, and no health issues.. Good luck on the insurance front.
