  1. Wow, the wind here since about 6 am.... sheesh! Just had a 37 mph gust.
  2. Set a new 'warm minimum' for the date of 44.1 degrees, old mark was 39 degrees from 1986.
  3. Where's that dead horse emoji? Oh yeah.... Just got back from Roanoke (applied for a passport, something I thought I'd NEVER do lol) and again failure from NWS. They likely will hit Roanoke right, I saw several bank therms reading 57-59 around 2 pm and the sun was out and skies partly cloudy, almost had to turn A/C on in truck! On way home it got cloudier and cloudier and ran back into drizzle around Clifton Forge and had the heat about 1/2 way up. Got home, 44 degrees at 3:45 pm.
  4. Had some sleet at start of precip last night after midnight, then a cold rain set in, just like this rest of this winter.... currently 35.1/33.0 at 9 am with light rain falling. EDIT, also just brought another wheelbarrow load of wood in to keep stove going. I WAS going to let it go out to empty ashes and check the flue , but with the rain falling in mid 30's I highly expect to miss another 'high' from NWS of 55 for today. Their track record this week has been right poor. Forecast 56 yesterday, high 47.8, forecasted 51 Sunday, high 44.3, I believe 40 was called for Saturday, hit 34.5 around noon then it fell thru 20's in afternoon...
  5. As I said to someone the other day, the comment 'warm/wet cold/dry' exists for a reason
  6. Welp, might be another missed forecast here. Currently 47.6/19.2 and cloudy at 4:15pm. High is forecasted at 56. Yesterday was calling for 51 and we peaked at 44.3.
  7. So from reading the past three or so pages I get that WHEN (or if) it ever snows again while playing an instrument I am more than likely to pick up a few cats and possible sides...
  8. Well, it is a month out, so possible... It SURE would fix/cure a lot of the angst out there.
  9. No snow right at my location, but the tops of the mountains are whitened and it rained here for about 40 minutes as temp dropped from 41 to 37 here.
  10. It was 22 here this morning, and it definitely looked like snow, even had some returns (virga) on radar move through... but nada.
  11. Added another 0.2 to my 'snow totals' for the year, I think 90% has been sleet so far and still haven't reached an inch with 6 events! Nuts. I had a wintery mix of freezing rain/sleet and snow from a little after noon thru early evening, greatest amount on ground was around 6 pm when big clumpy graupel mixed in with sleet for about 20 minutes. Temp hung at 30-32 all day and then warmed up overnight to melt majority of what I did have on ground and in trees. Currently 34.8/32.0 and cloudy.
  12. A couple more 'pennies' to add. Sheesh 12/16 0.2 12/22 0.1 12/24 0.1 12/28 0.1 01/09 0.2 Total 0.7
  13. There is a reason the saying is 'warm/wet cold/dry, repeat'
  14. Just enough snow and sleet to coat the decks and driveways earlier. Now a few sprinkles and occasional sleet pellet and 29.0/27.7.
  15. I'll have some of what p05 and p22 are smoking please...
  16. I can understand the angst in the LR model forum, I mean, we ARE running +17 to +20 through the area in prime winter season, if we were -17 to -20 the first 4 days of June with a possible warm streak swiped away on a model and back to rain and 50's it would be the same.
  17. That is a BRUTAL cutoff just to my south...
