  1. Awesome! Report when/however you can, but most importantly stay safe!
  2. 43.0/37.5 here, super, super nice!
  3. Currently 49.8/48.1 here, low was 49.6, first sub 50 since 6/20. I like it! LOVE the 35 at Canaan, around 3 am it was 32.9!
  4. Heavy shower formed just to my NE and headed SW, keeps backbuilding...pouring here for last hour.
  5. My numbers for the month of August 2022 Averaged high was 81.4 degrees vs a normal of 82.7 degrees, a -1.3 degrees below normal. Highest temp recorded was 88.9 degrees on the 10th. Averaged low was 61.8 degrees vs a normal of 60.4 degrees, a +1.4 degrees above average. The coolest temp recorded was 52.9 degrees on the 13th. Overall average temp was 71.6 degrees vs a normal of 71.6 degrees, a bullseye of 0.0 degrees off. Total rainfall for the month was 4.66 inches vs a normal of 3.32 inches, a +1.34 inches above normal. The wettest day was the 1st with 1.29 inches falling. There were 15 days with measurable, 3 days with a 'T' and 13 dry days. Highest wind recorded was 33 mph on the 11th. There were a few records, the 1.29 inches on the 1st was a new daily rainfall, then there were back to back record 'cool max's' on the 16th and 17th. Overall a slightly wetter and very average month temp wise. Again, another month where the highs are below average but the lows are warmer...
  6. Well, ended August with 17 mornings with fog with less than a mile visibility.... what is the old tale of number foggy days = snows during winter???
  7. Wife saw it, I missed as I was driving and the rear view mirror blocked my view....
  8. 53.5 for low here, like the way month is starting!
  9. DCA: +1.3 NYC: +1.5 BOS: +1.7 ORD: +0.8 ATL: +0.2 IAH: -0.2 DEN: +1.7 PHX: +1.1 SEA: +1.4
  10. Was awakened by the sound of thunder earlier this am, nice little storm and now a gentle rain falling, 65.5/64.4.
  11. VA used to have the "Kings Dominion" thing were schools couldn't start until after Labor Day, counties were allowed to 'exempt out' if they had enough snow days over a certain average of years I believe.
  12. Yep, hit 66.4 a few minutes after that comment, then down it went, so a new 'cool max' for the date of 66.4 degrees, beating 1994's 69 degree reading. I haven't seen 70 degrees in about 66 hours. Currently 58.0/57.2 and cloudy.
  13. Looks like I am headed for a '2 fer', currently 66.3 degrees, which is the high for the day, been 63/64 about all day until the last hour. I'll hold off to see if the 69 from 1994 holds until morning. Crazy cool last 48 hours socked in the clouds/fog/drizzle/ENE winds here.
  14. Managed to tie the record 'cool max' for the date of 68.3 degrees here from 2020. Pretty amazing to do that on tenths of a degree and only 2 years apart.. currently 59.9/59.0 and drizzle/fog.
  15. Clouded over last night, actually had 0.02 in gauge at 7 am from showers that pushed thru around 4-5 am. That helped to hold the temp up, 59.8 at 7 am.
  16. 52.9 for the low here, I'll take that ANYTIME in August
  17. Yep, I'll have to wait another week, but definitely will be reseeding some spots.
  18. Understand. There are squirrels, chipmunks, deer and bear that have all crossed the property here. The deer think the hostas on one side of the house are a buffet/salad bar. The squirrels broke into or ate every seed in the birdfeeders set out, the one they had trouble with a bear bent the pole over and smashed it to bits lol.
  19. I'd take a 12/13 again here too, about 90-95% of average and last snow fell on 4/5 lol.
  20. My numbers for the month of July 2022 Averaged high was 83.8 degrees vs a normal of 83.9 degrees, a -0.1 below normal, warmest temp was 89.5 degrees on the 24th. Averaged low was 63.3 degrees vs a normal of 62.8 degrees, a +0.5 degrees above average, the coolest temp recorded was 55.8 degrees on the 11th. Overall averaged temp was 73.6 degrees vs a normal of 73.4 degrees, a +0.2 above average. Total rainfall for the month was 3.90 inches vs a normal of 4.01 inches, a -0.11 inch below normal. Greatest rainfall was on the 27th with 1.31 inches falling. There were 21 days with measurable, 2 days with a 'T' and 8 dry days. The highest wind recorded was 30 mph on the 6th. Overall a fairly average month. Records for the month was the 1.31 inches of rain on the 27th, setting a new daily rainfall record. The 71.2 degree high on the 11th set a new 'cool max'. The 30 year averages remind me of 'years past', as the highs keep falling but the lows keep rising. I can remember 99 and 100 degree days when I was a youngster, now a 94/95 is a 'hot' day and we didn't make 90 again this July. As opposed to the lows, which the 'reset' is the largest gain/change in lows of any month with a 1.3 degree gain from previous 30 year period. 62.8 vs 61.5.
  21. LATE!!! DCA: +1.7 NYC: +1.8 BOS: +2.1 ORD: +1.6 ATL: +1.4 IAH: +1.9 DEN: +1.7 PHX: +1.2 SEA: +0.3
  22. LOL, I'll see what I can do. County just west of me got rocked, Greenbrier, WV, multiple water rescues and major US routes underwater on their western side in Rainelle/Charmco/Rupert area.
  23. Set a new daily rainfall record of 1.31 here, breaking 1984's 1.10 inches. 95% of that fell in a 2 hour window between 4 and 6 am this morning.
