  1. Nice thundershower. Wind gust of 29 mph and about 0.15 in gauge. Looks like more building to the W and SW.
  2. Looks like a line of storms headed this way from the SW.... boy is it HUMID!!
  3. Nothing here, but JUST to my west a barely moving storm with red and white radar returns..... I'd say they are getting quite wet.
  4. LOL, thanks for the memories, or rather nightmares. I worked at a K-mart for four years......
  5. Yep, just got back in from watching trains earlier, saw several.
  6. After a foggy start, sun is breaking thru and it is warming up, quite humid out there....64.4/60.0 at 9:30 am.
  7. My numbers for the month of May 2024- Averaged high was 75.7 degrees vs a normal of 73.6 degrees, a +2.1 degrees above average. The warmest temp recorded was 86.4 degrees on the 3rd. Averaged low was 53.0 degrees vs a normal of 48.6 degrees, a +4.4 degrees above average. The lowest temp recorded was 37.9 degrees on the 14th. Overall averaged temp was 64.3 degrees vs a normal of 61.1 degrees, a +3.2 degrees above average. Total precip for the month was 3.82 inches vs a normal of 4.30 inches, a -0.48 inch below average. There were 13 days with winds above 25 mph. One new record, the 1.30 inches of rain on the 18th set a new daily mark. Overall a warm, semi-wet (seemed to rain or sprinkle about every day!) and fairly breezy month.
  8. Nice rain this morning, started very shortly after the 7 am CoCoRaHS report. Temp been steady in mid 50's. Currently 56.5/55.3. About .20 in gauge.
  9. Yep. My saying is 'a day above 80 is a waste', NO WAY I'd live in a place like that. It is bad enough here 6-7 months of the year. EDIT- the 77.4 high today makes 5 straight 'good' days
  10. DCA: -0.8 102 NYC: -0.2 102 BOS: +0.7 102 ORD: -0.3 101 ATL: -0.4 101 IAH: +0.5 106 DEN: +2.1 104 PHX: +1.7 118 SEA +2.1 98
  11. Didn't quite make it into the 30's, 40.8 for the low here. Upper 30's all around me though looking at the CO-Ops.
  12. trying a new language I see
  13. Yep, I had a couple in the area 2 years ago. They literally SCREAM, and usually no alarm or 'work up to', just a scream lol.
  14. Just back to the land of power after almost 25 hours. Had a 55 mph gust just before 7 pm yesterday in the storm, LOTS of 45+ gusts, then power out. Tree limbs and trees down in neighborhood. Clean-up day today.
  15. Over 1/3 inch this morning (and still raining) with thunder at times, especially between 7 and 8 am. Closing in on 1/2 inch last 24 hours.
  16. Well, while the 'testing' was going on (that NWS Blacksburg DID send out a statement on between 8a-3p) I could use the dropdowns and point and click, just came in from working outside and went to check radar since rain drove me in.... back to nada. Amazing. Can you go back to 'testing' Blacksburg??
  17. On main page if you click on a location it goes to a screen that looks like this, also none of the 'main topics' (forecast, rivers and streams, current conditions) open their dropdowns. You can type the zip or a location in the box and hit go and it works though.
  18. Still not working from NWS Blacksburg as of 8 pm....
  19. Currently 58.9/58.0, which is the high for the day. Been 56-58 all day with a light drizzle or light rain and a light SE to E wind. Won't be a 'cool max' in the morning as that belongs to 1999's 54 degree high for 5/15.
  20. Yep, no frost here but it was 39.7 at 7 am report time. Low was 38.7 about 5:30 am.
  21. Rain falling here in last 10 minutes or so after some breaks in the clouds earlier. Down to 58 after a 63 high earlier with the bit of sun.
  22. Down to 40.4 here this morning, ALMOST in the 30's... I'm with Stormy above, I'm sure there is a way to track previous forecast's high with actual going back. I'm 95% certain his thoughts are right, especially for the western parts of this forum's area. I've posted several times over the past years of TERRIBLE 'warm busts' by NWS for my area. Sure, they miss low a few times, but that is rare compared to the 'missed high'.
  23. Well, only 0.04 here, but better than nothing lol. Breezy this morning from NW with 57.9/52.7 under PC skies.
  24. Nice line of showers and thunderstorms lined up from Cumberland MD to Snowshoe to Beckley WV heading east.
