  1. NAM brings us a minor ice storm Saturday night
  2. Euro gets snow into Southern MD for Sunday morning
  3. What did the models miss earlier this week that has degraded our good look for next week?
  4. One common theme is not much precip over us either way over the next 15 days
  5. Yeah rain in International Falls MN isn't a great sign for us
  6. This weekend still has potential for a light event
  7. Tomorrow night does look interesting imo with the potential of some pretty robust squalls
  8. Quite a bit more support on the 18z EPS for a bit of snow but its still a longshot
  9. Looking at the EPS there's quite a spread in temps starting Sunday and if you squint perhaps a remote chance of light snow over the weekend?
  10. Prettty disappointing turn of events although rug pulls are what we specialize in around here
  11. Euro gives DC a dusting overnight
  12. How's the upcoming "dream pattern" looking?
  13. Having chased a lot in Oswego County while at Syracuse I strongly recommend you stay off I-81 through Oswego County and take Rt. 11 instead. I-81 can get blocked by stuck trucks in heavy snow conditions and the exits are FAR apart so you won’t be able to turn around. Rt. 11 will be passable with any decent SUV regardless of how hard it’s snowing
  14. Let’s see how active this place is in a week after no threats materialize or are on the horizon in this upcoming “dream pattern”
  15. Wonder if we can get on the board for January w the front Thursday/Friday next week
  16. Hoping to see the sleet line race north to the Tappan Zee bridge tonight
  17. Sleet is kinda fun and sticks around. Freezing Rain sucks
  18. One thing I’ve noticed anecdotally is winters where Syracuse has a lot of early snow compared to Buffalo turn out to be decent in the DMV due to a predominantly NW flow that hits Syracuse while building up a snowpack in Canada vs winters that dump on Buffalo have a SW flow and have a ice free Lake Erie. So far this winter Syracuse has 39” while Buffalo has 17” which if my theory is correct is a good sign for the rest of our winter. https://goldensnowball.com
  19. Mesos did a great job delaying the cold air at the surface which was one of the limiting factors (and poor snow growth at least imby). 1 more hour of snow below freezing everyone would’ve been happy
  20. 1.3” here. Lost about 90 minutes of qpf due to warm surface temps and then had poor snow growth the rest of the storm
  21. Not surprised w the graupel type snow I’m seeing
  22. There’s gotta be some thin warm layer above the surface as I’m getting styrofoam or graupel type snowflakes no dendrites
