  1. Yep, maybe the warm waters we have now aren’t the kiss of death anymore.
  2. Should be through here in a few minutes, line looks like it’s actually maintaining.
  3. Some pretty good velocities with the line as it went through there. May clip the very north end of Suffolk-Caumsett State Park. The part that’s warned is over the sound.
  4. We need our severe events to come from the NW. When they come from the W they die out. The Ambrose Jet is already established so tons of marine layer. Hopefully I get a quick thundershower like the other night. Some rain would be helpful since we’re going back to a dry pattern.
  5. Ambrose Jet getting going. Islip gusting to 24mph. Probably over 30 on the beaches.
  6. The seabreeze just makes it worse now because it raises the humidity.
  7. It’s plenty hot enough. We traded the west downslope heat waves for these humid Florida stretches. Heat index is the same both ways. Can’t wait for this front to come through. Given how dry it’ll be getting maybe for once we can get a good line of storms vs the usual broken up crap.
  8. Had another shower with this bunch. Missed me to the south by less than a mile, it consolidated around the Northern State.
  9. Brief shower with some thunder.
  10. Yup, late surge today. Temp 89 currently.
  11. Looks like a nice big gap between the CT and PA storms headed here. As always I believe any decent storms make it here when they're here.
  12. Late surge at JFK with winds turning SW.
  13. Absolutely disgusting outside.
  14. I won’t want to be around for it. But it’s probably in our future. When that happens there likely won’t be a JFK anymore since it’ll be underwater.
  15. We’ll see. Only 85 here so far.
  16. Hopefully the nicer weather doesn’t mean smoke comes back.
  17. We probably still get over 100 today with the heat index from the onshore flow from well above average waters. But yeah-our heat waves where we get over 95 come on westerly downslope flow.
  18. We have the worst of both worlds. Higher humidity and higher temps. Heat index tomorrow will likely get well over 100.
  19. But no end to the WAR on steroids and endless lake cutters yet. Got it.
  20. For sure. Before 2010 Long Beach was full of them. After the 3/2010 nor’easter, Irene and finally Sandy they’re essentially all gone. Irene left rows of them toppled near my house.
  21. Light to moderate rain here, occasional clap of thunder.
  22. Looks like part of it is getting SW Nassau where it's still very much needed but not expecting much by the time it gets here. Hearing some thunder but writing's on the wall. We really need our severe weather to come from the NW so the marine layer can't ruin it.
  23. I think he means for the summer as a whole not in a row.
  24. I had 8.5" this "winter" and that was mostly from being lucky on the 2/28 event. South shore had white rain. I don't see how this coming winter could possibly be any worse but I'm ready to be surprised. If we get one juiced Nino southern bomb with cold enough air for just a few days, I'll be totally fine with that and zero else. But a massive east based Nino can easily be a complete waste like 97-98 with numerous good tracks but zero cold air. And the worst part about that was it helped usher in a big Nina right after which caused more suck that we couldn't shake until the 12/30/00 storm hit.
  25. Downpouring here.
