  1. Radar estimating 2.5"+ here. Finally a good soaking.
  2. Radar looks awful for much more outside of S NJ. So it might well be on point.
  3. Hopefully it’s correct.
  4. Looks like the Ambrose Jet is muted in this next heatwave so if we can maintain a more westerly flow it can be in the upper 90s east of the city too.
  5. And west. Rain is definitely needed here and looks like as usual the activity is focused west over NJ.
  6. Another Ambrose Jet day. JFK gusting to 30. It’s been crazy this summer.
  7. Was hoping dew points would be a little lower today in the 60s just for one day. So much for that.
  8. Up here on the N Shore low scud clouds racing north. Even here no chance at real heat with S flow this strong and starting off with thick low clouds. And any storms/convection will be long killed off before getting anywhere near here so the dry spell continues.
  9. Now over 40mph at both. As a result temps in the low 80s. Must be an all out sandstorm on the beaches.
  10. JFK and Farmingdale both gusting to 33.
  11. Winter is the new autumn!
  12. Looks like Beryl remnants make it up here intact.
  13. There should be a heat advisory on the N Shore today. Currently 88/74=97 heat index.
  14. Yep-disgusting today. Miami weather.
  15. Hopefully we can get some kind of organized system to bring the storms east of the Hudson. Otherwise yeah this is the typical wet inland/LI flash drought pattern.
  16. I’ll gladly take something more than 10 drops here or 7 drops there the last couple weeks. Lawns not regularly watered are all brown.
  17. Get it right. ENHANCED fail!
  18. These enhanced risk days are almost always when there's a strong S flow which is terrible for any severe on LI. We want a westerly flow to counter the marine influence or occasionally a seabreeze boundary pushing into the westerly flow to cause convection. Would've liked more than maybe 10 drops though, would've been nice.
  19. Good for SW Nassau and the barrier islands at least. Can’t get a break whatsoever IMBY.
  20. But it’ll be an enhanced risk 0.01!! Not even enough here to wet the ground completely.
  21. Disgusting outside, feels like August. As always IMBY, I'll believe any storms more than typical thunder/lightning and some gusty winds when I see them east of the Hudson. Hopefully the grass gets a good watering.
  22. A few drops if we’re lucky.
  23. Maybe although I'd think it goes N of here. I think the chance for widespread heavy rain would be what's in central PA now. Latest HRRR largely has it surviving.
  24. Maybe another chance overnight for places that were missed. The barrier islands are bone dry now and need the rain.
