  1. Looking forward to getting this soupy airmass out of here. Fri/the weekend look great.
  2. Heavy shower in Melville.
  3. Woodbury/Plainview area might have 1". I have about 0.33".
  4. Looks like some heavier showers moving onto the south shore. Some light drizzle in the gross humidity earlier.
  5. As long as that area east of Japan is still on fire I’m very bearish on any kind of decent East winter at least south of I-90. That’s rip roaring Pacific jet garbage like we’ve had.
  6. Yep even with the dew point at 65 it might as well be the desert compared to the soup over the last week.
  7. Been very hit or miss. Relying on these lines of storms that die off east of the city 98% of the time doesn’t often do it. I’ve been lucky for once. Looking forward to the lower humidity for a few days before the steam bath returns.
  8. Approaching 1.5” here today. And looks like I'm about to get hit again.
  9. If you’re in Brightwaters you’re probably still in it, there are cells firing behind the outflow boundary. The line of course is dying out east of the city but hopefully many in Suffolk still get something out of it.
  10. Here we go. Not much wind but torrential rain and loud thunder.
  11. Looks like a bow segment heading for the Rockaways and Long Beach. Velocities increasing near Breezy Point.
  12. They got nailed yesterday and multiple other times this summer. South Jersey Alley can use a break.
  13. Some strong velocities coming into Manhattan/Queens. Line looks like it’s bowing out.
  14. Hopefully this line can survive east and nail everyone. Many still need rain.
  15. Downpour/rumbles of thunder in this cell.
  16. Photogenic looking anvil top again from the storm over Stamford.
  17. Wow that was crazy and one of the more impressive T-storm wind events you’ll see there. Especially since the heart of that storm stayed off the beach, must have been outflow driven?
  18. Surprised the storm heading over Brooklyn is surviving the Ambrose Jet death zone. In any case maybe Long Beach/central Nassau has a few showers from it as it dies off. Very highly doubt anything makes it this far east.
  19. Ambrose Jet cranking once again. JFK and Farmingdale gusting over 30. But still upper 80s here and higher humidity than west of the city. Sooner or later we’ll get to the point where these onshore flow days just bring more misery even when we’re 10 degrees cooler than NJ.
  20. It’s been so strong that the waters get very choppy and enhance upwelling. Multiple times we’ve had Ambrose Jet events with gusts to 45.
  21. I can see the anvil top from it at my house. Impressive cell.
  22. Probably another ferocious 40+ mph Ambrose Jet setup on that map.
  23. Really depends on the wind direction. It needs to be at least SW. If it’s southerly with the Ambrose Jet firing up, max would be 95 and before the winds increase. The models really bringing the heat east of NJ and the Hudson Valley keep the westerly flow and mute the seabreeze.
