Tragically it sounds like there are fatalities already. Might be the case that there are more up here than down in LA.

Central Park 3.15" in one hour. About 7" total now. Thankfully in NYC this is about done now but an absolutely insane 2 hours.

Big totals in the NW corner of Suffolk too. I'm at about 5.5" per Radarscope but 7"+ just west and north of me.

That still gets them to about 7" total. Thankfully rain is about over there.

Heavy rain again here but looks like the worst is over outside of central/eastern Suffolk. Radar estimating I'm at 5" or so now. Maybe I can make it to 6".

Hate to even imagine if the fatalities up here will be higher than those down in LA from Ida.

Sandy submerged most of the subway system with salt water which also fried the electronics. This won't be as bad. But still a devastating flood situation for some. Some of these Gulf systems have a crazy "Part 2" in the Mid Atlantic or Northeast like Camille in VA. This is clearly Ida's "Part 2".

That could be from Long Beach to Montauk Point? Also-another heavy band coming into Nassau. Not as heavy as this last one but will still be rough. Just heard a loud rumble of thunder.

Uhh, no. Not sure where you are but radar estimates 4.5" for me and 2"+ in an hour. And 3-4"/hr with 7-8" total now around New Hyde Park to Glen Cove.

N Nassau from Great Neck to Glen Cove estimated over 7" already too. E Nassau getting destroyed and that training band is on my doorstep.

Yes. Other hi-res models show the same deluge. We're not out of this yet here.

Also at least Nassau and W Suffolk aren't out of the woods. New HRRR is an absolute deluge w/ up to 6" west of the Sagtikos roughly.

There are times it happens here-Aug 2011, Aug 2014, Oct 2005 etc. We don't want what NJ and NYC are having trust me. Let it go NW of us.

It's coming for at least the western 1/3 or so of LI too. It won't be as insane as over NJ and NYC but we all should be at 3-4" by the end. The humidity will finally be done at the end of this which I'm definitely looking forward to. My dehumidifier has been cranking nonstop for a week.

That will likely be 3.5-4" by 10pm. Radar is estimating over 2"/hr.

Central Park has to be getting 2-3" next hour at least. Likely to be more flooded subways. 3rd time this insane rain rate has taken place this summer.
