The rain looks broken/scattered and I doubt many of us even get the 0.5”. Looks like a small part of Ocean County got 2-3” or so.

Not sold on this at least area wide. Models generally look meh especially east of the Hudson. Any rain is more than welcome but outside of a couple lucky spots I doubt it makes any dent.

Down in Long Beach today-grass/trees look horrendous.

So happy for our deformation drizzle drops this morning. The pavement was wet for about 10 seconds too.

Hopefully but these days I believe it when I see it. These patterns seem to reinforce and lock in place more and more these days.

NYC was likely 100 on Tuesday. Several other stations in the city hit 100, and even though they’re amateur stations, several in Nassau hit 100 too.

If the Euro/GFS are right, any drought will be long gone by the end of the month. If this cutoff and onshore flow are real, it’s a recipe for gushers for days.

Pronounced sea breeze boundary today, looks like it stalled around the LIE in Suffolk and Hempstead Tpke in Nassau.

Long Beach the hot spot today-up to 85 already. If anyone gets to 90 it might be there. It can heat up in S Nassau on these N wind days. Bit if a downslope component from the north shore.

Was funny watching the steam rising from the street as the rain was ending this evening. I've had enough FL summer weather.

About 0.6” here by radar estimate, looks about over where I am. I gladly take.

Moderate rain just started here. Guess we’ll see what happens.

1.5” and a flood advisory in the Great Neck/Manhasset area. Hopefully some part of that survives east into Suffolk.
