    It doesn't retrograde the pv in Canada as much this run. You could tell by the 500mb maps at 60hrs it was probably going east.

    This is a tough setup to get to come up the coast. Need an initial disturbance in the Gulf, or the baroclinic zone further north, or the high to move offshore and generate a return flow.

    Just took a walk and this crap is easily as bad as 15" of snow. Dense and slippery, like walking on a pile of dead fish but without the smell luckily.

    Cmc came out finally and its close to a storm. Just gotta get thsouthern and mid streams to phase along the gulf coast and bring a 500 year snowstorm to New Orleans an Atlanta. Then it will probably build heights along the east coast enough that it will hit us too.

    Euro gives us a Lil clipper after Sunday's storm and thats it. Seems we can do better with to weeks below freezing.

    The 2017 storm had a pesky warm layer around 800mb which caused the sleet line to be way north.

    This storm is a bust if there is a gap in the 12" snow swath anywhere between Ruidoso,NM and Portland,ME.

    48hr hrrr has the changeover line matches the euro almost perfectly.
