  1. Wind gusts to 100 mph in the severe thunderstorm warnings
  2. Sea breeze keeping temps down on the south shores of Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island
  3. Lots of lightning with the storms near Glen Cove and on the north shore of Suffolk.
  4. The ones over Brooklyn and Whitestone have weakened almost as quickly as they formed. The Suffolk one looks as if it got a bit stronger.
  5. Literally popped up in minutes. Another one by the Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridges and one more out on the north shore of central Suffolk County. Literally just popped up between radar scans (5 minute intervals)
  6. Storms starting to develop over northeast PA. One right around Port Jervis the other about to enter southern Sussex County in NJ
  7. 82/77 at my station. NWS OKX has a nice little power point presentation available here: https://t.co/0w6vI228Da
  8. Holy crap. 129 heat index 7/15/95 at EWR. Don’t think it will get that extreme this weekend, but believe 110-115 is in the realm of possibility.
  9. Where’s all the “dry air” lol. Dew point 67 now. Definitely better then the 77-78 it was sitting at most of yesterday though.
  10. NWS confirms tornado touchdown yesterday in NJ https://abc7ny.com/weather/national-weather-service-confirms-tornado-touched-down-in-nj/5382128/
  11. 1pm Highest Dew Points from OKX OBS: JFK-73 Wantagh-72 Newburgh-73 Atlantic City-75 Toms River-79
  12. Confirmed scaffold collapse in Manhattan 10 Av and W 33 St with the storm that just rolled through Manhattan. Quite windy even outside the storms. My station gusting in the mid 20’s
  13. Numerous trees down all around Suffolk County including state police with several on the area parkways. Also had a nice little cell just move through middle Manhattan with some reports of downed trees and a reported scaffold collapse.
  14. Looks like something popped just south of the sea breeze boundary in southeast Queens and heading towards southwest Nassau.
