  1. 8-10 foot bullshark sighted just of Lido beach. another sighting in Long Beach as well. Great. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/large-shark-spotted-off-long-island-beach-may-have-chomped-on-sea-skate/2536264/
  2. Another day with buoys reading 80 or close to it. I don’t remember this happening with regularity years ago.
  3. Those two cells off the south shore are creating another fantastic light show if you can get a good line of sight. Hamptons out to Montauk must be getting it good right now. They don’t get svr warned often.
  4. That cell around Bridgeport putting on a great light show even from down here on the south shore.
  5. 91/74/101 here. I’m not to far south and west of FRG. Actually I’m closer to the wantagh mesonet which is at 91/75/102. I think you gain a degree in dp every mile south you go from the southern state parkway.
  6. I have one small branch come down in the yard and of course it slices right through my tomatoes
  7. 1.01 at the wantagh mesonet last 6 hours. I do not have to water this weekend.
  8. Winds picked up a little out here. Even a 20mph gust “looks” worse in summer blowing through dense oak trees. 30-40mph would probably start taking down limbs here and there.
  9. Thanks! I knew someone on here would figure it out. I found it inside my house near the front door. Didn’t want to kill it but also didn’t want it to fly off in the house so I snatched it with my fingers and went to put it back out the door. Bad idea. Bite still hurts a little this morning but not bad. Makes sense it was around since there are a bunch of potted plants outside and there were a ton of aphids in one a few days ago.
  10. Can anyone identify this guy who bit me and it hurt like hell?
  11. Had to come post about the small hail on the south shore as well. Hail around here is like seeing a unicorn
  12. Few mangled flakes on the island. Looks like April will match February in terms of snowfall.
  13. Same temp here. Wife just asked me the same question.
  14. That is an absolute beast offshore. Tough that it missed, but there will be others.
  15. The spring peepers are out in full force in the nature preserve across the street. I heard the first ones nearly 2 weeks ago. First time I’ve heard one in February.
  16. Without blocking Im pretty sure It’s equal to like mid April. Is that more of the type of answer you were looking for ?
  17. I was 28 last night and there were still a ton of bugs flying around in the park today.
  18. Well hang in there. Take a look at the live cam. Thats snow now. I'd be more concerned with crowds this weekend. Presidents week is always busy. https://www.stowe.com/the-mountain/mountain-conditions/mountain-cams.aspx
  19. Garbage cans already rolling down the street here on the south shore. Anyone see the mention to March 2010 from the NWS in their discussion? That’s not good.
  20. What do you think about snow vs. ice for the southern part of VT? Trying to decide if Okemo will be decent by Saturday or do they get hung up in sleet/ice too long. The norther part of the state looks to get dumped on but I only have enough time/energy for a day trip.
  21. That’s what I said. Got to 54 here. Felt like April (Although recent April’s have been more like 39 and raw drizzle)
  22. Snowflakes here. Which is better than not snowflakes. So it goes down as a win in my book.
  23. Snowflakes mixed in with the falling leaves in Seaford.
