  1. Wow. 34. First frost. What’s left of the tomatoes and eggplant seem to be ok. Love to see how deep into the season I can get stuff to produce.
  2. Finally got a chance to get to Tobay this morning. Beach is beat up. Ocean took several feet of the new dune they put up after Sandy. Water was crashing under the beach house well after high tide. Waves were really clean though.
  3. What a beautiful day on the beach. Swell from Humberto is dropping now, but great rides early today and honestly just beautiful to sit on the sand and watch it roll in for hours.
  4. This was that storm from Long Beach NY.
  5. Don’t know if anyone is awake on the immediate south shore, but look east. What a light show. Tiny cell blowing up out over the ocean. Marine warning says it’s 50 Miles south of Nantucket. Pretty cool and only something you see this time of year.
  6. Pretty cool. Up to 16 seconds at times. I look at the buoys often but would have just glossed right over that this week.
  7. So now you’ve got me curious. Long period swells from the Southern Hemisphere? Where did you read that, I’ve never heard that before.
  8. We’ll that was a show. And now it’s all fire engine sirens in the distance. Classic.
  9. Ok. Caught up. 93/80/113. That’s about as high as ive ever seen.
  10. I think its been mentioned but the extreme dew points make it a lot harder for AC equipment to cool a home and therefore can lead to more power usage. 100/60 will take less energy to cool than 100/80.
  11. 90/79/107. I might not believe me own readings if others in the area weren't similar
  12. The water was a bit cool right on shore (Tobay). It certainly didn't feel like 75, which is what both Buoys were reading.
  13. I know others have mentioned the high number of lightning bugs around. I feel like this is the most I ever remember seeing. Maybe not surprising after having seen them deep into October last year. I also feel like I have a couple of giant dragon fly’s from the Permian era flying around my back yard.
  14. Local buoys are in the low 70s this morning. Satellite basically backing that up as well. It’s summer. Enjoy.
  15. Up in Lloyd harbor this afternoon at a relatives. Lost power as that cell hit. Almost immediately. We were right on the edge of the worst too.
  16. I saw this boat last weekend. The owner of this thing should have to bear the full cost of the removal. The "up to" $15k probably won't cover the cost to the state to have this removed. This was intentional and sets a bad precedent for people that don't know what do with their useless old boats. You can't just leave this thing at the curb and hope the garbage men will take it away. Great picture though lol https://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/boat-beached-jones-beach-abandoned-1.32657038
  17. I actually meant to post this but I saw the first one over a week ago. Surprised because it was so cool and rainy. Now I have multiple a night in my yard. I guess I am in a good spot for them.
  18. Time for me to come back to the forum now that rain and gloom are done with
