Pressure bottomed out at 1001.0mb at 2:42 pm here. The damage I’ve seen looks about on par with Irene, but (obviously) less than either Sandy or March 2010. Didn’t see nearly as much tree damage as some of the pics in this thread, loads of debris and branches but no downed trees. That severe thunderstorm+microburst last summer must’ve cleared out the weak ones, in addition to Sandy, etc. My job hasn’t had power since before the height of the storm, and no streetlights for most of the way there. Today should be peaceful.

The London Plane Trees outside my window are being ripped to shreds, several branches down and a ton of foliage gone. Pines holding up much better, southern trees doing better too.

Dry slotted. Only 0.25”. Sunny and windy. I swear this is like living in the desert out here, can’t count on convection, stratiform rains, nor tropical cyclones. I’m gonna go rain dance.

I was outdoors for a few seconds when that band just came in and I look like I was shoved in a pool. Rain/winds just came in like a freight train.

Getting dark here now, I’m currently dragging in the houseplants, one of which already blew over in last night’s thunderstorm. Also, am I the easternmost forum regular? I feel like I’m always the last one to see impacts with most storms.

Getting some gusts now, nothing major yet though. 78/76 with 0.01” from a brief shower. Didn’t see any Tropical Storm Warnings posted on the LIE like with Fay (and every other TS), everything still COVID related. A lot of people seem oblivious to what’s about to happen.

I saw lightning just above the tree tops, initially I thought it was something else as there isn’t a cloud in the sky. -

Oh sure, it *would* rain today, any other day the showers are a miss, but today I get not one, but two, and with only 0.02” to show for it. Any more conveniently placed showers and I’m gonna unplug my PWS. 85/80 here now. 6 hours to go. -

90 here at the moment, I’ve been under cloud cover for the past hour or so, even had a few raindrops. High of 96, low of 80, if the rain stays away this should hold. Today’s mean is 87.7, beating out 7/21/19 (mean of 87.6) as the warmest day on record for my 2.5 year old PWS.
