  1. 80/70 split today. Temp hasn’t dipped below 70 in a week. Month averaging 87/70 so far. 0.81” fell today, monthly total now 4.55”, most of it from only 3 or 4 events, still pales in comparison to NYC and NJ.
  2. Constant lightning to my south, sky lighting up every 3-5 seconds, makes it feel much closer than it actually is.
  3. 87/73 today, streak over. Got off to a strong start but those mid-day showers/clouds ultimately killed it for us, only 0.03” from the showers anyway, a waste of time. Heat wave: 92, 91, 95, 93, 90. Currently 80/77 (HI 87).
  4. 84/76 here now as well, I think 90 is out of reach, but not impossible. I hope we get slammed later on, Suffolk has been missing out this summer.
  5. It’ll be interesting to see if KNYC can pull off 90+ tomorrow after all of that rain.
  6. 0.21” here, beggars can’t be choosers but radar returns looked more impressive.
  7. Gusty outside with fairly frequent lightning, starting to rain now.
  8. Dark skies to the west, nothing looks to be heading this way though, oh well. Enjoy!
  9. I’m actually surprised it hasn’t already. These high dew summers have really started to feel normal, the 2010’s really stand out on that graph. More evidence of a transition to a more subtropical climate. A bit of an apples to oranges comparison but my PWS is averaging 70.5 so far this month in an area with much more vegetation than ISP.
  10. 87/77 here too. This is a cooler version of what much of Long Island felt like during those heat advisory days.
  11. I-95 south in that part of NE NJ looks like an alien civilization at night. High of 93 here, low was 73. Felt toasty today but far less oppressive than yesterday’s pressure cooker humidity.
  12. 87/70....slightly cooler and much less humid than yesterday.
  13. 91/76/102. High was 95, low was 76. Heat index peaked at 117 (briefly) when the dew point surged when the sea breeze arrived.
  14. 92/78/107 underneath cloud cover, I haven’t seen the sun in about an hour.
  15. 91/80/110 Just lugged a ton of groceries the equivalent of about 4 city blocks and I’m drenched.
  16. 95/77 (HI 109)....clouds incoming. Edit: DP spiked to 80 underneath the sea breeze, temp still 95, heat index 114.
  17. Clouds gone, 92/76/105 here. This morning has felt far hotter and more oppressive than at any point between yesterday and the day before.
  18. Clouds working their magic, down to 89/77 here. High so far is 92, should blow past that with more sunshine.
  19. 90/81 (HI 108) at 9 AM, insane. If I still lived in Queens (and the dew point was lower) I’d say 100 feels likely.
