  1. Picked up almost another 1/2" overnight of rimed-flake sand. Whitened up everything and layer down some traction over the layer of ice. Wasnt expecting that this morning. Pleasant surprise.
  2. Well, it's back to sleet. Lol.
  3. It has either switched to sleet here too, or has quit altogether. Visibility has increased dramatically. Eyeballing around 3" on the ground.
  4. I was at the store this evening...I assure you they are.
  5. Actually it sleeted enough here to cover the ground.....visible in the shoveled sidewalk and patio.
  6. Light mist. 24F. Thin coating of glaze. Sidewalk and patio are skating rinks. Amazing to see the difference in snow cover. I've got 4+ snowpack and its just patchy in winchester....bare ground south of there. I'd be feeling very different about this winter if I still lived in stephens city, or front royal. As it stands, I've had snow cover since Jan 31. Haven't seen that personally since 2010, at least.
  7. Yeah, my location paid off. Its amazing the difference between here and in town. The stephens city peeps probably awoke to bare ground and a few sleet pellets on the wiper blades. But, darn, I want to see some heavy snow rates.
  8. 2.5". Snizzle continues. Underwhelmed. Another event with weak rates. But, it is snow where just 2 miles away it was sleet, and it is snow on snow, and pretty.
  9. Yeah. Most of us are gonna need it. Another forum divider, unfortunately.
  10. Sleet and rain mix turned to sleet a bit out 522N north of winchester, and to snow right at Shawnee springs Market. Not dendrites, but is snowing here. Ground is white and roads are covered. Night and day vs. Winchester.
  11. Hitting the grocery store on north end of winchester and it's a 50/50 mix of rain and sleet.
  12. Pouring rain now in winchester. Mixed with a little sleet.
  13. Well, if it's already turned to rain, I fail to see how it snows later with the warm push upstairs continuing . Hope I'm wrong and heavier rates somehow turn it back.....but not seeing how that happens with this setup. You know more about this than me, so .....
