  1. Looking at the 500 chart, what feature illustrates the diffluent signature? I dont really see the height lines diverging.
  2. February. Sun angle season is here. Season's Greetings.
  3. Why not? It was only off by 2 feet or so on accumulations for the last storm from 24 hours out. Pretty close when you consider it is looking out all the way from Canada.
  4. Still getting snow. Pretty soft dendrites. Almost 40 hours now. If only this thing had a little more juice. Im not sure how much has fallen, but over 8" on the ground. Imagine there's been significant compaction over the length of this event.
  5. Oddly. It continues to lightly snow....im not sure it has ever stopped. Been very light at times. Around 7". I wonder what it would be if I'd swept and measured. I imagine the rate of compaction has exceeded the accumulation rate at times.
  6. That was never gonna happen here without a negative tilted trough and a capture around norfolk.
  7. For as light as it looks to have been snowing, it is accumulated decently. Eyeballing about 3".
  8. Just no rates. Frustrating. Like 1 mile vis. Very light snow for the past hour.
  9. Getting better rates now. Pixie dust has turned into dendrites.
  10. Whatever you and I are getting on the initial WAA thump is what we're getting from this storm.
  11. Heights in the SE would have what effects on the tilt of the trough?
  12. 3 to 6" here. If we are lucky with WAA. Knew that the coastal was a fantasy for out here.
  13. I like seeing that L south of hatteras. Just crawl due N baby.
  14. I'll feel good when I'm outside shoveling it. This is not a good setup for us out here.
  15. That storm was an absolute nightmare. I was in front royal at that time. We got slop during the waa and about 3 inches from the coastal. Bright sunshine by noon that day as the rest of the forum was blasted all afternoon.
  16. Its a Miller b. I know how those end up in my location. This is a SNE special.
  17. We were single digits during the bulk of that storm.
  18. Like that 2010 storm that retrograded WSW and crushed NYC.
  19. Lack? There's an inch on the mean. Thats pretty darn significant. Ofc it'll verify as .1 out here when all is said and done.
  20. Agreed. But add in the bottles of winter lager chilling in the snowbank.
  21. Thats a dream scenario as depicted.
  22. Yep. Started around 8 pm. Waited until there was 2 or 3 inches on the ground and a group of us, including my 6 year old son, hit the sledding slopes around midnight and sled til 2 am in the increasing snow. Watched the snow pile up all day Sunday while the Cowboys clobbered the eagles to advance to the NFC title game. Sunday night we headed out in my roommates truck and we pulled sleds down an empty 522 south of front royal. The plowed snow banks were nearly head height already and it was like being on a luge. I was told we hit 50 mph on the sleds at one point. It was one of the funnest times of my life. It snowed the next day into lunchtime. Measured 37" in town. Feels like a dream now.
