  1. It's simply amazing how little weather we get here. By far, the most severe weather we get is the wind behind cold fronts...on sunny, dry days. Easily the most boring weather of any part of this country.
  2. Picked up about .4" total for yesterday, from our typical drizzlefest. Plus whatever we got from the storm Wednesday afternoon....probably another .4 - .5". Badly needed rain.
  3. That sucks. Hope you have better luck today.
  4. Everyday is a good day for fireworks! Lol. But, Lake Holiday does a nice display, which is visible at my place, on July 3rd, so I do my family cookout then. Once that show is over, we let off our own. On the 4th, there are so many displays going on around us, we can just sit on the top deck and watch them. Enjoy the holiday!
  5. Saturday looks amazing. Perfect weather for my cookout and fireworks. Couldn't have timed that better between heatwaves.
  6. Got .11" overnight. Got a storm yesterday afternoon. It was a gusty one apparently: in addition to lots of leaf clusters, small branches, garden flag, and chicken-feeder being blown down, so was my rain gage stand. Nearby PWSs ranged from .26 to .83. So, who knows. It was wet (for once) under trees and bushes, so it must have been of some significance.
  7. According to radar, I finally scored a hit. We'll see what the ground truth is when I get home later.
  8. Interesting article. However, I dont find heat waves in late June "extraordinarily unusual". Ridiculous statement.
  9. Yep. And I know where that zone will be.
  10. Today is blistering. Just disgusting outside.
  11. I will plan on a sunny, hot, dry Saturday.
  12. Sure it will change and ultimately be sig warmer, but my forecast is a high of 74F on Saturday! Would be perfect for 4th celebration.
  13. Another night in the 40s. 47F for the low. Left all the windows open last night and the temp was 60F in the house this morning. Perfect!
  14. Out of town. But nearby PWS at home shows low of 44F this morning. Incredible!
  15. Storm to the north, storm to the south.
  16. Idk. Maybe its just bad luck. Nothing too imposing to my west to cause this. Last summer the same thing happened. Storms split and go around me. Other times of the year it doesn't seem to be a problem. Not like stephens city where it was always dry.
  17. Dying sprinkles. Lol. Going to get a head start and go ahead and record another 0 for the day. Now 1.73" for the past 47 days. Grass is complete cinder and trees are wilting and dropping leaves. Watering plants nearly daily.
  18. 45F glorious degrees. Phenomenal morning. Feels like October.
  19. Almost a whole .10" in the bucket from last night's deluge. Combine that with the .13" pounding i got Sunday afternoon and I'm pushing nearly 1/4" this week! That puts me at 1.73" since May 3! All that in just 6 weeks! What drought?!?
  20. Another dud. 15 minutes of light rain and a few distant rumbles of thunder. Doubt it even wet the ground under the trees. This place is cursed. I cannot beleive I managed to move to a drier place than Stephens City.
  21. And now the storm train sets up to my south. I ****ing give up.
  22. Picked up a another whopping .13" from yet another DOA storm. Absolutely amazing watching it approach and then completely die as soon as it got to me and the N part remain strong and soak those parched areas of Frederick County that only received 3 to 9 inches of rain 2 days ago.
  23. My dream would be to have moss for a yard. Never have to mow it and you could walk barefoot on it in comfort. Hell, you could lay in it.
