  1. In my long years, have NEVER been in more intense snow and wind than what we are getting on RI south coast. trouble standing in wind, cant see a 100 yards ahead. simply amazing
  2. RI south coast. Power out at 3:30am. Shoveled around generator. RI Energy text says 1600 impacted in my area
  3. as one of those folks who live on southern RI coast, I have legit 4 inches( and heading higher) on ground from last night and this am. just texted my guy that will need to be plowed later this afternoon
  4. I am up to 19 degrees. still pure snow.still heavy, no pingers. close to 10 inches. wind just gusted to 27 mph
  5. my visibility has tanked in last half hour. And wind picking up. 3-4 inches down and covers instantly when shoveling deck. feels like strengthening storm off shore
  6. I would only add a perspective in my backyard. 12/18 destroyed significant dunes along RI coast. major over wash happened. there has been no time to let nature try to rebuild. If we get sustained winds and ocean builds, we absolutely will have coastal flooding
  7. perhaps an omen. In Quonnie salt pond ( I know harmless, but if I was clamming and saw this I would lose it!!) DEEP on Tuesday shared a photo of the wandering manatee, which may have to be captured and relocated if it sticks around too long as water temperatures drop. A Rhode Island manatee. The sea mammal native to Florida and the Gulf Coast was spotted recently in a coastal lagoon near the state border with Connecticut.
  8. At RI coast. Dont laugh but just checked my solar panel output and actually generating electricity today!!!!!
  9. I did this and I apologize . Daughter coming in from Denver on red eye Thursday night , arriving in Boston Friday am. Bought a back up ticket for Saturday last night. It was Ryan's Thursday " possible noreaster" forecast that got to me. I truly am sorry....
  10. 2.75 inches since this morning at my house on south coast.lots of rushing water; fortunately ground soaking it up
  11. wow!!! just dropped from 50 to 37 degrees in the span of 5 minutes. wind out of north, gusted to 32
  12. 50 degrees and raining hard. winds from southwest gusting over 20mph
  13. I know what is happening in Eastern Mass but conditions are wild on RI south shore. puking snow , winds continually gusting over 40. was just out and actually kind of dangerous outside right now. I believe all major bridges in RI are closed
  14. last 10 minutes, total whiteout, winds screaming
  15. at least 4 + inches here but impossible to measure with winds. Gusted to 38 on my station but somewhat protected from NE winds( SW winds come right off ocean). Trustum Pond weather station , a couple miles away, has gust to 46 and certainly its coming on strong here. will walk down to ocean soon . temps dropping quickly. down to 22 degrees
  16. I know most talking snow, but ocean is absolutely wild. waves overtopping dunes. temp 45 degrees, inch of rain. winds hit 55-60 at weather station in Trustum Pond national wildlife refuge( my peak gust at 45 but somewhat protected from southeast winds). local report of 77 mph on Newport bridge
  17. thunderstorms over night. 63.3 degrees.peak gust 24mph. you could see bank of clouds over ocean this am ready to move in
  18. picture from West End of Hartford this am
  19. Been snowing steady on coast since early this morning. Probably 2.5 to 3 inches. have shoveled a couple time; very wet, but covers instantly. BUT temp was at 29 degrees at 5:30am then slowly rose to 32 degrees. JUST ticked down a degree. And I am close to beach. Still heavy snow from NE, peak gust 26( but a little sheltered from NE winds)
  20. Eversource got absolutely killed in CT by legislature and other public officials due to its lack of response to Isaias. If anything, company is probably overreacting
  21. from a friend at Eversource. Eversource will declare an Emergency Event Level 4 at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, meaning we expect 10% - 29% of customer outages, or between 125,000 to 380,000 outages, and 1,500 to 10,000 trouble spots. Restoration for a Level 4 Event can range from 2 to 6 days before most customers are restored. Already secured over a thousand hotel rooms for crews through the weekend
  22. just flipped to heavy mix here.winds roaring. I am elevated, my ocean view gone (quarter mile away)
