  1. Beautiful but very chilly day after the wind and rain last night. Leaf season will quickly be over in these parts.
  2. I’ll take the 2-3” the nam is spitting out imby.
  3. Very cool. I’m too far out to rely on community or neighbors, but I know lots here do too. Have had graupel and a few flakes but nothing too noteworthy. Some grassy accumulation will be nice to photograph with the leaves if that happens later tonight into the morning.
  4. What are you going to use for snow removal? My first year here, was not prepared...ended up shoveling and using a walk behind blower. It was a never ending job. Since then, I've added a 54" blade to my quad and even that hasn't been enough. If a serious snow is coming, I almost have to go out once during and plow so that it's not too overwhelming for my quad. This year I bought a Bercomac 54" blower that will cut down dramatically on snow removal time. It should be in by the first of November (fingers crossed). So in all, I have around 6500.00 in snow removal equipment. And for me, I prefer blowing snow to pushing it with a blade... easier, neater, and you don't have the giant piles to deal with in spring. And yeah, fulltime job! Decent 1" rains fell yesterday, and the temp soared to 65 by 8 pm but back down to 34 this morning. Winds howled last night! Chance of some light snow or mix again later tonight... inch or less grassy areas.
  5. Wow, congratulations! Now we have members posting from all the major snow belts. Can’t wait to see pics and observations from the area!
  6. With rain and strong wind coming, leaves are probably at their peak. Was hoping to have a nice and sunny day to view them before they fall, but the sun has been in pretty short supply the last 10 days or more. Took this today looking over the Dead River
  7. 103.5 is high dude. Hope you’re okay. Don’t delay a dr’s visit.
  8. Light rain and 38 at 6pm... breezy from the north. Def cold feeling this afternoon... can almost smell the snow!
  9. Quite the chilly stretch the past several days. Have had rain/graupel and at times in heavier showers, all graupel. Even had a few flurries in the sprinkles early this morning. Color show near peak in higher terrain areas around my house and down toward Negaunee, a week or so behind down on the lake. Some pics today... hi-def if you click on them
  10. Just a rainy and raw morning, 42 degrees. AFD mentions possibility of first flakes/grauple tomorrow night. I’m sure I’ll stay up late looking! CAA drops 850mb temps down to -6C or colder by late Fri night/Sat morning, improving lake effect processes. Wet bulb zero heights fall below 500ft over higher terrain of west and north central, so if there is in fact pcpn occurring, could see some snow flakes or graupel at times with the rain showers
  11. Foggy, drizzly and 44 this morning... will stay in the 40's today with an east wind off the lake. Hard frost/light freeze yesterday morning with a low temp of 31. Autumn progressing quickly in the north woods!
  12. Stayed in the upper-40's all day yesterday with persistent drizzle. Summer looks and feels a thing of the past. Leaves are beautiful so far this year. Could see the first flakes towards the end of this month. Average September snow is .2".
  13. Down to 36 this morning with frost on the roof of the house and truck... nothing on the ground. Leaves are changing noticeably every day. I'd estimate peak in 2.5-3 weeks. Best summer of my life!
  14. It's Beavis getting even for all the warm talk in the middle of winter. It ruined the whole season.
  15. Very sad to hear you lost a good friend so young and so sudden. An aneurysm killed my mom. Great advice to follow.
  16. This is the most ridiculous sh*t ever! Point taken, Beavis!
  17. Started the day out nice, warmed up to 66 so I hopped on my quad and went for a ride. 30 minutes in, the temp fell 20 degrees and started raining, with me in short sleeves. By the time I got home I could barely walk from shivering. Down to 38 with a wind chill of 30. Warming up by another mid-May evening fire. Gotta love the UP....
  18. Way below average here as well. All of February and March, just 28" of snow when the average is around 80. The bitterness is really beginning to set in.
  19. I think you may be my new hero, I'm not sure yet :D

  20. BTW.... I loved your conference dress!!!
