  1. Of course. I was only remarking how kind and thoughtful it was your plow driver cleared the stoop for you, as well. Wilma, I gotchu'!
  2. How east coast. It's been a great start to Winter here too... 9.2" today,(yes, it's still snowing), a season total over 45", and a depth approaching 20" on Novemeber 19th. Hard to complain, and no, I don't think I could live anywhere else, either.
  3. Definitely! And I'm still eating Halloween candy! Still snowing hard at times, and should into the evening. Way over achieved with this event. Forecast was for up to 5", I'll likely be double that before it ends. Quick depth measurement in the yard
  4. Down in Negaunee for some errands, crazy heavy snow all the way. 5-6" has already fallen up at my place since last night. At least 2" per hour rates I'm pretty confident. First pic up by my house: Negaunee:
  5. Weak clipper passing south has turned winds to the ne and pushed a heavy band of snow onshore into far northern Marquette County. Should easily see several inches today... temp 17 degrees this morning with a foot of snow on the ground.
  6. The snow hole in Niagara has a 1.5-2" season total. Areas that have seen no snow to date would be just plain white, so the only place on the map I see that hasn't had any snow is on the Jersey shore. I think the map is pretty accurate... not 100%, of course.
  7. First below zero temp of the season. -1 was the low, up to 4 now... 5-7” in my point for later tonight into tomorrow for a narrow area here in the higher terrain.
  8. Clouds and snow showers have cleared, down to 8 degrees. Excellent conditions to view the meteor shower.
  9. Posted in the Lakes... Thought I'd share here too. Posted in the Lakes... Thought I'd share here too. Your area is off to a great start. Hope Erie doesn't cool too soon.
  10. Probably not 100% accurate but pretty close I think for most areas.
  11. Yeah, pay account only. You guys have def done well so far!
  12. Actually, I think that total is in either northern Chippewa or Luce in the eastern UP, according to the legend anyway.
  13. Several inches of snow fell overnight with a transient but heavy band of snow with a Lake Nipigon connection. Puts my seasonal total at 3 feet now. cool hi-res season total snow maps
  14. Feel like I should be posting in the month of December or January instead of talking about November 13. Low temp this morning was 8 degrees with forecasted high of 19, a little over 3" fresh snow yesterday... 21" of snow this month with a season total now 31".
  15. snowed very lightly all night, then moderate at times for a while this morning. Forecasted high today of 25 and only 21 tomorrow, normal is 40, I believe.
  16. Each year has been different. Nov 11-12 of 2014 32” fell. It was the wind that made this so impressive. A foot of snow I’d say is pretty common here in Nov tho.
  17. I'm with ya! Low temp early in the night was 9 degrees, then flurries and clouds moved in. After the storm and hard blow, noticed portions of the roof have 2'+ drifts already. "Winter is here again oh lord"
  18. Mostly just flurries left falling. Very nice storm to kick off winter!
  19. For several hours last night, teetered on blizzard conditions. Calm winds and light snow all day then around 10 pm it was like a snow bomb went off. Looks like a foot fell just overnight, on top of the 2-3” during the day yesterday. Winter is here.
  20. It's bad Mqt: A note from the Michigan State Police: "Weather conditions in the western Upper Peninsula are poor. Visibility in Ontonagon and Baraga Counties is estimated to be approximately 20 feet or less, the heavy snowfall and wind is making travel in these areas hazardous. Residents in these areas should stay off the roadways if possible. If you must travel use caution and allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination." These conditions are also being seen in much of the western half of the UP. PLEASE STAY OFF THE ROADS IF YOU CAN!
  21. Words can't describe the peacefulness here in the winter with deep snow and empty woods. The deer will leave the snow-buried higher terrain for the coast and further inland areas where there's food, the coyotes/wolves will follow... only sounds to break the silence will be the few blackcaps and woodpeckers that hunker down and ride out the winter with me... It's my kinda life! If I do end up with the higher end forecasted amounts, my seasonal total will stand around 30". Everyone getting snow today, enjoy! 24 hour snowfall:
  22. ^ Great pics! Snowed another 1.5" overnight, with expected total snow accums of 10-17" in my point with 35-40 mph gusts tonight... deep blanket of snow should make opening deer next week interesting. Today: Snow showers. High near 29. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Tonight: Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow after 9pm. Low around 21. Blustery, with a north wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible. Saturday: Snow showers, mainly before 1pm. High near 25. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible
  23. NAM still hot with 12"+ totals here in the Huron's, the spine of the Keweenaw, down to the Porkies. Tomorrow afternoon into the evening should see the heaviest snow. Do expect winter storm warnings to expand east with next package, although the MQT forecast for Marquette County is usually based heavily on weather in the city where only advisory snow may occur, so could only see a WWA even tho 20 miles nw of the city in remote areas, a snowstorm rages. Very Excited! Not sure which site I like better... tropics color scheme for sure.
  24. Weenie up and ridin’ the NAM. It’s been consistent with this system past few days. Seasonal snow is here!
