  1. I believe that's O'hare and yeah, they've had 17.1" this season.
  2. For as mild as it's been this winter, this map doesn't look too bad... especially MI, IA, and WI.
  3. Those depths for the UP seem off. MQT in negaunee was reporting 37” yesterday morning and Grand Marais I believe has 41” OTG and I’m in excess of 40” here, so idk. Some others further west: Painsdale 51" Kearsarge 46"
  4. Will, those are beautiful pics. Really captures that mid-winter feel. It was def a beautiful day up here with the sunshine and a high of 20 at my house... had to dig the chimney out. I watched a video from the Tamarack location near Calumet and the snow depth was 54 inches, with a seasonal snow total of 204". Probably one of the snowiest spots in the UP this winter to date.
  5. I don't recommend anyone moving here just for the snow. There's a real sense of isolation that has to become normal. I've heard lots of stories of people moving here to retire or whatever and only make it a winter or two. Loving snow is one thing, loving up to seven months of it some years, is another.
  6. Nice pics. I don't think I've ever seen you post a pic of a sunny day. I know how you despise them.
  7. Persistent lake effect snow for the past 24 hours or so has accumulated around 7 inches here. Deepest snow of the season at my house. Picnic table now completely buried. Pattern ahead looks active as well.
  8. Looks like lots of little disturbances and clippers in the long range. Munising will do well in that setup. Hope the snow is deep for you. If you’re there on a weekend, a hidden gem about 20 miles south of munising is the camel riders restaurant. It’s only open Friday and Saturday this time of year, but it’s worth the excursion. Just when you think you might be lost, you’ll find it.
  9. Weather has been pretty quiet up here, relatively speaking. Mostly wind and some cold temps. Low this morning was 2 degrees after off and on snow-squally weather yesterday and last night. Have had 8-10" of snow over the past week, mostly in 1-3" increments. Went on an early morning snowshoe today, snow stake in the back measuring 3' of snow... snow water equiv must be around 7".
  10. Almost dying in 5' of snow during a blizzard seems to have really taken the passion out of your hobby. I rode through that area this fall and stopped to think how scary I'm sure that was and how alone that must have felt being so far from anyone or anything. It would have changed me I think. There's been plenty of snow up here for riding for a while now.
  11. There's been a lot actually the past several years, although my little corner here has not been under 200" a season since I've lived here. One or two years it was close and the depth only peaked around 30" one year, think it was 2016-17.
  12. Less than 100" by January first is just average.
  13. Last winter was the deepest snow I had ever seen imby. 60 plus inches in late feb. At that depth, it's pretty much impossible to measure, just feel encapsulated by it a little bit. I still have high hopes for this winter.
  14. 65" of snow in the next 10 days... Better gas up the blower...lol
  15. East snow belts sure have been cashing in lately. Later today into tonight when winds go more N/NNW, it should begin to snow heavier again here. Meanwhile, overnight it cleared and with around 10" on the ground, the temp has fallen to 8 and probably no higher than 15 for a high today. Hard to believe Halloween was 12 days ago.
  16. Leaves have peaked, season's first snow is in the forecast, will certainly pale in comparison to west of here in the N plains, nonetheless, winter is very close to setting in here in Michigan's north woods.
  17. This is the most ridiculous sh*t ever! Point taken, Beavis!
  18. I think you may be my new hero, I'm not sure yet :D

  19. BTW.... I loved your conference dress!!!
