  1. I happen to love the Seney swamps. Most of the wolves I've seen up here have been while traveling that stretch, especially in the wee hours. The entire shoreline of the UP is stunning so IDK how to choose there, either. I do prefer the western half overall (mostly because of the ruggedness), but LOVE Munising to Paradise N of 28. The whole area is a remote northern wilderness and I love every minute of the 6 month winter, too.
  2. When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it. The child is grown; the dream is gone. I, I, I've become comfortably numb.
  3. Pretty much the same here. 4.5-5" fell quickly overnight, with a few more possible today as temps dive to around 11 by this afternoon. There's 2' of snow on the ground here.
  4. Enjoy up there, Will. Probably only 3-5" accums over this way. Looks very cold and wintry the next 48 hours along the shores of Mother Superior.
  5. Took a few hours, but things are mostly cleaned up. Will do some detail work tomorrow. Cleared a path to the woodshed and was surprised to see a 23" depth in back (measured on average 19-21"). A few inches possible Wed night/Thur, then looks quiet.
  6. Couple of quick pics before I start diggin' I guess no picnics for a while
  7. Precipitation records shattered for Dec 2nd up here. I finished with 16" (1.77") liquid. MQT 14.2" (1.62"). Snow is officially deep! Coffee, bacon and eggs, then lots of digging out... will post a few pics later today.
  8. Thank you, and yw! It's not a free site. $100 a year or something like that.
  9. It's getting colder and the snow is heavier again this past hour. Even over the lake, stuff heading this way is lighting up more. NAM is suggesting 8-10" by 7 am, forecast is for 5 more inches overnight. NAM had the right idea all along, hinting at the possibility of 14-20" through here, so no reason to doubt it... should end up in the 15-20" range.
  10. Just over 10" has fallen so far, with an average 10:1 ratio. It has let up a little from earlier, but still moderate with heavy pockets from time to time. Expecting another 6" before ending in the morning. This will be my third snow this season over a foot and possibly the second one to exceed 15"... season total is over 60" already. Edit to add that as of 1:00 pm, MQT down in Negaunee reported 8.8" snow with a 1" liquid equiv.... very dense snow!
  11. Wet, heavy snow this morning with 6" falling overnight and another 7-10" likely. Advisory was upgraded to a warning, with most hi-res models indicating 1.5 to 2' here through tonight.
  12. NOAA outlook ugly as **** It's been pretty quiet up here the past week, only nuisance type snows. Even with the quiet week, 44" of snow fell this month. Setup this weekend similar to a couple weeks ago when 17" fell here. NAM has been doing well, so stickin' with.
  13. I literally hate this map! Spent a good deal of my life living an 1/8 inch just north of Warsaw, and watching from my bedroom window, the lake effect clouds and snow falling only 3 miles to my north, while I had stars and nothing... the root of my thirst!
  14. Sorry, I don't have a Kuchera option... 'least not that I see. Last one for the Canucks
  15. At 27, it looks like a bullseye for the city or slightly north
  16. Fell asleep early it was 19 out, woke up to fog and 33 this morning. First time above the freezing mark since Nov 6th. Feels warm
