  1. That's not what he's saying. The sensors themselves aren't great and frequently have issued. They aren't designed for climate record keeping like the COOP stations are.
  2. yeah it does correspond well with that veering wind. Lots of development upwind in last 10 years too.
  3. yeah it's def warm. CEF is 94F at 3p though.
  4. I wonder if those maps struggle with resolution given how narrow the Gulf Stream is. With differences in resolution between climo and observations you wind up with some weird looking dipoles (you can see the really warm anomalies next to really cold).
  5. Once our eyes adjusted here you could see it all and pillars pretty clearly.
  6. Looks like Bt has come down quite a bit and Bz has come up quite a bit. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/real-time-solar-wind
  7. Where do you see the real time updates of that?
  8. Some of the lowest light pollution in the world there.
  9. None taken! This one was really well modeled... EMLs always make life better
  10. Based on how it looked on radar and what we had here it could have been >2" diameter in Woods Hole.
  11. No post from Wiz about tomorrow's severe threat? Nice EML in place!
  12. Eastern Mass seems to really struggle compared to places like ISP/HVN. Out toward the Twin Forks and GON it's a different story but seems like a bit of longitude does help around here even when you're on the Sound or Atlantic.
  13. Is it that rare? I feel like it happens quite a bit this time of year.
  14. My parents drove to Danville, VT to a brewery I found online. I told them to leave right after totality and they managed to hit no traffic at all coming down 91. Made it back to New Haven in like 4 hours. In Dallas there was no traffic either… seems like everyone who worked downtown stayed home. No rush hour and just the coolest of vibes.
  15. What a day. it also seemed better than 2017 to me!
  16. Completely cleared out in Dallas for totality. The cu field went poof and miraculously had no cirrus! Just an absolutely exceptional experience.
  17. I have no idea how my flight tomorrow is going to take off given the severe weather expected!
