  1. Yea we didn't get much from the front the first of the month and 0 from Elsa. Pop up storms usually get us quite often but the pattern has not been favorable this year. What's crazy is my job in west Asheville (one of the driest areas in NC) is having a wetter summer than MBY along the escarpment in McDowell. Very very rare. Bad news is August can be one of the driest months of the year especially if no tropical activity. I feel like it's going to take a tropical system in the Gulf to save us from growing drought in WNC.
  2. Nothing yesterday at the house, cells missed us to the southwest and northeast. Only .65 for the month so far.
  3. I live along the southern escarpment so we often see enhanced orographical uplift in tropical systems, even the flow around ones.
  4. Somehow all the tropical showers have avoided MBY. Only a trace so far
  5. Our only hope is Elsa trending west. Piedmont folks may get some but western piedmont and foothills looks dry the next few weeks other than pop up storms. And that is a model consensus.
  6. I disagree. Looks pretty dry to me.
  7. Ended up with .54. I will take it but was really hoping for over an inch. Looks to be dry for at least 4 or 5 days.
  8. .13 so far and still sprinkling #winning
  9. I'm right on the edge of the darkest shade of brown in WNC
  10. Anyone else noticed the lack of thunderstorms this year so far? I think we have had 3 or 4 decent storms all year. Normally it's an every evening deal this time of year here near the Blue Ridge.
  11. The rivers are pitifully low here, I hope we get a couple inches of rain with this next front for the last hoorah of trout fishing before fall
  12. Euro says the front will push through all the way to the Gulf coast
  13. And wet the previous few days before independence day. For once the western part of the state is running behind the eastern part this month
  14. Picked up another .27 to put me over 4 inches for the month. Close to average
  15. .43 today and still raining lightly. 3.85 for the month. Could use a bit more but not bad.
  16. Don't think it will stay dry long with the influx of gulf moisture likely by next weekend or so
  17. Well we got crushed today with 1.7 and the best storm of the summer. Over 3 inches for the month now.
  18. .17 today, mostly missed again. Some places near the blue ridge have picked up over 3 inches the past 4 or 5 days. Just 1.2 here.
  19. .62 here today. Right at an inch for the month. Been a bit weird here though lots of heavy downpours but very little lightning.
  20. .32 today for a total of .55 this month. Nickel and diming my way to a happy lawn.
  21. We got in on a little action yesterday but still sitting at .23 for the month.
  22. I'm in a similar situation here. Only .05 this month and rain all around.
