I've heard more bear reports this year than I can remember. I haven't seen one yet but a neighbor through the woods across the street, about a quarter mile away had three on his security cam the other week.

What you'll learn is that the winter up here has additional metrics besides total snowfall in order to classify it as being good or not. For example, as you pointed out snowfall was ok but it was punctuated by some thaws that kept the snowpack from building up all that much. also, there wasn't really any sustained cold that locked stuff in. Lake and pond ice were pretty sketchy at times. For me and many other winter recreation enthusiasts, it was a so-so winter.

When I was in high school, I raised chickens as Future Farmers of America project. They were pretty much free range during the day and put inside at night. One day I saw one impale a small frog with it's beak and eat it. They can be brutal.

I wish cider doughnut time was year round.

High of 52° here today with clouds and the occasional cold wind. Luckily, one of the guys in my foursome brought a flask of Drambuie to keep the chill away.

I was just about to go and check this out. It's become noticeable sitting at my office desk/kitchen table. Still breezy though so very tolerable.

My feeble attempt at capturing a picture of the sun setting over Camel’s Hump. This was up at our town’s rec area. I would put the views from there up against any rec area in New England.

I don't know if we ever got confirmation of CoolSpruce's passing. I think his son had said he had a stroke and wasn't doing well but that was several years ago.

GPS carts are cool, to a point. I was playing in a tournament once and we were waiting for the group ahead of us and the pro shop sent us a message telling us we were behind and would have to skip a home if we didn’t catch up. We were already waiting on every hole. I have a golf gps watch now so I don’t need the gps info, of course I almost exclusively walk anyway. They are nice for courses though because they can restrict where carts are allowed to go and even put speed limits in certain areas.

Played a relaxing 9 tonight. Shot a 42 with an awful 3 putt double. Other than that to only dark spot was the hellacious mosquito attack I suffered on the 7th green and 8th tee box. Beautiful night to be out other than that.

That sucks at a new place. Looks like you have an ok spot for the leech field though. It's incredibly tough in some parts of NNE to find a suitable place for them.

Wow, nothing really reached us. I could count the raindrops on the deck. It was enough for my son to stop mowing the lawn because he felt rain drops. I heard a few rumble of thunder but that’s about it.
