  1. I got this one for Christmas and has been good. Like you, it’s just for casual/entertainment use. https://ambientweather.com/amws2902.html?utm_campaign=smart-shopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google-ads&utm_id=go_cmp-9255048604_adg-93600172293_ad-416614400595_pla-993418500170_dev-m_ext-_prd-WS-2902C_mca-147779820_sig-Cj0KCQjw9YWDBhDyARIsADt6sGbucimTTw0ctN2uHfW3sakU-J2hE6HyNJoLB7jJGulLxhAos073KrEaAkD4EALw_wcB&utm_source=google&gclid=Cj0KCQjw9YWDBhDyARIsADt6sGbucimTTw0ctN2uHfW3sakU-J2hE6HyNJoLB7jJGulLxhAos073KrEaAkD4EALw_wcB
  2. We use different grading criteria. My main criteria is useable snow for snowmobiling. Even though the riding season this winter was short, it was very good, with no mid winter melt downs. We started riding from my house on MLK day and I rode from home for the next 7 weeks and probably could have eked out an 8th if I had wanted to. During that time, a good portion of VT was open and the trails stayed ok, though more snow would have been appreciated. This adds up to a C- or C. with March bumping the grade down to a C-. Unlike the ski guys, snow after the base has been wiped out doesn't up my grade. More real cold and more frequent snow storms would have been better and I know that there are areas in NNE suffered far more than we did but it was an ok year that will likely be forgotten.
  3. At least you’ll be able to spot the forest fires from there.
  4. I always say March 15th - May 15th or even Memorial Day is the time to be gone from up here.
  5. Wow. I was in St. J and noticed what appeared to have been trees and branches that had been cleaned up along different parts of Rt. 2 on my way home. There was some damage in East Montpelier. A roof was blown off a fireworks warehouse. The picture isn’t that great but I couldn’t get that close.
  6. 2015-16 was an F as was 2005-6. 2011-12 was a D
  7. When I was about 10 and my brother was 5, my parents told me to make sure I sprayed him before we went to sleep while they went to some friend’s campsite. Apparently, I did not get near his face because that’s exactly how he woke up the next morning.
  8. I swear we never have ticks and it’s because our cat is an environmental disaster to rodents in our yard.
  9. The guy in the excavator has a pretty big job ahead of him.
  10. That was the difference here. That wet, heavy snow we got in January froze into a pretty good base that really helped us maintain a solid, but short season.
  11. If it happened last night, there are clubs in VT that would have been grooming. Woodford has had pretty good snow and I know guys who rode there yesterday.
  12. Well, looks like I should have read the posts below the one I quoted!
  13. Will grooming be done in northern ME by the time this “could” happen? If there was any possibility, I would consider making the drive and buying a : day registration.
  14. They are still riding in Bennington county though by the time this would happen, it will likely be gone.
  15. NNE Warm Season thread seems a bit early. I'll blame you for jinxing us if it snows 2" again in the middle of May
  16. I’m done with it. Don’t need it, I can’t do anything with it now.
  17. Our golf course superintendent would aerate once at the end of May and once at the end of August. Seemed to work well for him. Of course adjust for climate.
  18. Underwater drone tests in the NEK https://vtdigger.org/2021/03/21/arctic-scientists-test-underwater-drone-on-willoughby-lake/
  19. Same with snowmobiling. I always wear a balaclava under my helmet so when that’s off, I pull it up over my nose and mouth if I’m close to other people.
  20. I would have guessed that the snowmobiling community was a bit more “anti-mask” than most but I saw very good adherence in general nearly everywhere you would expect it. Like you guys said though, what’s the purpose when you’re not physically close to anyone and outside? As far as immune systems go, I agree as well. Exposure to stuff early is what builds immunity to all sorts of disease. I don’t think we want to mess with that all that much.
  21. Has to be right. I put away all the snow removal equipment today.
